I don't necessarily disagree. I was in line at a F&W kiosk in the last few weeks and the CM was saying how she couldn't wait for the day to be over. I don't think that's appropriate "show" and she made me feel like I was holding her up. But I also wonder if/how much social media is contributing in the sense the expectations are raised overall (perhaps unconsciously) with tales of "pixie dust" and "magic"?

Nah, I don’t frequent these forums or Disney social media pages unless I got a trip to plan. My only expectations were from our last trips.
And yes... the example you gave is exactly what I’m talking about. The cms at quick service outside the Mexico pavilion kept saying stuff like this in Spanish. I’m fluent so I understood. I thought it was very “undisneyworld” like

I don't think it's that. I think it's more the cutting of staff across the board resulting in overworked CMs. And cutting training in "Disney Traditions" from 3 days too half a day.

I think critically discussing the product with people that have made 20 trips to WDW in 5 years is kind of pointless. They LOVE the place.

I think that blanket general assertations about a product based on such a small sample are worse. Which cast members at what location(s) performing this/these job(s) were not good because would be a good start at describing any shortcomings.

not at all because the bottom line is they are all opinions.

Op says in one breathe not particular happened yet the cm's weren't as "friendly" as previous? what does that even mean? Ok you want a "critical discussion
what specifically about the parks has declined? what about the cm's was not the same? what were you expecting? I was there in August and the cm's were great, at the rides they said "have fun". at the quick service they always said "please, thank you and enjoy your meal" in some form or fashion.
Not helpful? what did you need help with? when you ask them a question they didn't have a question to what happened next

I have no problem saying I love walt disney. if I didn't I wouldn't go but it's hard to have a "critical" discussion with some one that says the "cm's didn't seem present" and "it was nothing that specifically effected them"?

If it didn't effect them, then what's the gripe?

So you think this is pointless, I think blase, non descriptive gripping is pointless. So basically she was underwhelm about the parade. ok. I can't comment as I'm not a Halloween person so it's not something I would do.

Op, sorry you didn't think you trip was worth the money.
How is my description not enough? Less friendly, less present, less knowledgeable. How is this not enough lol? I don’t need 3 paragraphs like you. Lol. You people are almost like a cult. Love Disney, love Disney World but come on lol.

because you said it didn't "effect you". so what should they have been doing? that's all. what they didn't smile at you as you walked by. Did they ignore you?

again, I've got no problems. I've had awesome trips. my last one was in August. CM's were fine but then I didn't expect rose petals thrown in front of my feet as I walked by. they waved, said hello, made sure i didn't fall out of my ride and said have a good time.

I was just asking.

lol, if being in a Disney "cult" is the worst thing in my life, hey I'll claim it, that means my life is pretty darn good and the company in my cult is great.

My entitlement? Do we know each other? Have we met because you’re making some big assumptions here. No, I’m not entitled. As another comment stated. They have cut back on cms & cm training. This would certainly account for what I experienced. Less cms present, less friendly cms & less knowledgeable cms. I don’t see how taking notice of these things makes me entitled.

Sorry I triggered the cult mentality in these forums. I stand by my observations. I know what my past experiences at Disney World were & I know what I experienced this time. I had 2 people in the industry with me who had the same observations.

And..? What did you expect - a pat on the back for noticing? Commiseration?

Clearly many of us have had the opposite experience. So what we can extrapolate from that data is nothing more than some times are better than others. Big news!

Your BoG lunch exactly how was it bad for the approximately two-minute maximum interactions at reception, ordering or food delivery? You were or were not on the list, you self-order or confirmed at kiosks maybe even paying at the cashier, chose your own seating and then your food was trollied out to you. Condiments, utensils, and drinks are all self-service.

Well first of all, going on a forum and telling people they're just a cult when they disagree with you isn't a good way to have a rational discussion. You don't like the service you got, fine. But other people did. You want people to accept your opinion then you have to accept theirs.

WDW has over 70k employees. Some are great and some not so much. Some may also behave differently around certain guests/times.

Over my last trip CMs were almost always helpful, including some who went above and beyond, but there were two HM CMs who at park close clearly did not give a **** on Oct 2. They chatted with each other during the stretching room (after one stood in the way of the door closing), one was checking her phone during the ride (easy to see during the seance) and they were clearly more than ready to be done their shift.

When did I say my BOG experience was bad? Reading is fundamental. I said we were at BOG when we had a discussion about the decline in service. It was merely the location.

I stand by that cult comment also since I can think of no other word to describe most of these reactions. I don’t need anyone to accept my opinion. My original post asked if anyone else felt the same way. There was no need for the attacks on me personally which is what I got.

Indeed. You got people who literally love TWDC. They go 3/4 times a year. Spend countless dollars. Etc.....

They need to be here defending their true love. They need their decision to spend most of their vacation time, and tons of money on WDW to be justified.

These aren’t people looking to think critically about the Florida Swamps. They just want their love reinforced, and possibly reciprocated.
