September Visit

We are planning a trip, for September 8-13. Our last visit was in February. All of the information I have seen about Disney says that September is one of the slowest times of year. I was wondering:
Anyone been there during that period before?
How do you think it compares to late February?

Thanks!:D

I've never been in February, but the last 2 times we went were in September. We had our own boats/cars on many of the rides and pretty much walked right on to everything. The most we waited in 98 was 5 minutes for Space Mountain. 2000 was a little more crowded because of the Millenium celebration, but still, we didn't wait longer than 10 minutes for anything.

It's HOT though!! ~at least when we were there, it was in the 90s both times~ I would definitely stay on-site. We went back (to the room) for a lot of mid-day cool-downs. Even 45 minutes can be refreshing!

I would say that Sept is my fav time of year. It is still a bit warm, but that allows you to enjoy the water parks and the pools. I have been in 1995, 1995, and 1997 in Sept, and im planning on making a anniversary trip in Sept 20-24. My past trips have been in Feb (last year) and April this year...so im looking forward to the less crowded parks this time around, and I think that you will enjoy them too! Have a great time!

I am kinda interested in seeing what the park hours r gonna be though...went in April and they were decent.

We will be staying at the All Star Movies resort, and are looking forward to the Water parks (Bring on the heat!). Hoping we get as lucky with the short wait times. Thanks for the advice:D

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
September is a great time to go.. I went 10 days after Sept. 11th though. But there is hardly any lines....I got right on POTC and everything else with no lines....nuttin like just walking into the haunted mansion...and picking any doom buggy you want:). The ONLY thing I was in line for in all of the parks was Test Track.

BTW: When the Prez gave the "Go to disney world speech" I was in one of the boats on the way to Germany in EPCOT, and the husband and wife team that pilot the boat annouced that the President said that in his speech...how cool is that?:)

The beginning of September is one of the best times to visit WDW. I have gone over that period for the last 5 years. The crowds are small with little or no waits for most rides. Most of the kids are back in school, so it is pretty quiet around the pools too!!!

We arrive on the 6th!!! Only 113 days to go!!!!!!

I was in Orlando from 1st - 15th September last year. The crowds were low (except 1st, MK was very busy). We hardly had to wait at all, Fast Pass wasn't really necessary for the vast majority of times. I think we only needed them for Test Track (and the 1st).

However, I didn't think the weather was very good, it was very wet, and not tropical storms either, it really put a "dampers" on the holiday, and spolit it ina way. We would go out for the day, but have to cut the trip short, as it was too rainy. However after Sept 11th happned all our little weather worries did become irrelevant!

I meant to add to my above reply - Spectromagic wasn't running during September (other than the 1st) which is why we had to go on our first day, even though we knew it would be busy!

I have been a few times in September. It is THE best time to go. The weekend after Labor Day is slow. The first two weeks in December are almost this way too.

We were there in Sept. 97, a great time to go! There were low crowds and you did not have to get a seat 2 hours before on the curb to view parades. We have also been in October and early Nov. all with low crowds. Our most recent trip was this past April and the crowds were horrible! We are so spoiled from going in the fall and never having to wait. We are going to plan are next trip for either fall time of January. Have a great trip!
