I am wondering which time, mid Sept. or mid Oct., would be better as far as weather and crowd levels. I want to stay seven nights at the Poly, and I am patiently waiting for the discount codes. Please help!!!

OCTOBER

Go in October, I have gone in September and October. September rains more, and more overseas people that do not use deoderant show up that month. October less rain, LESS PEOPLE, also get the MNSSHP passes and have the park till midnight.

This is my opinion from actual experience.

Yes, you can still use the pools. October is a great month, and we have our 3rd October trip coming up this year. If possible, plan to go to MNSSHP. Kids (all ages) will love it!

164 days to go!

October!

My vote is for October, in fact we'll be there the first week.
September is often a bit more stormy, with a hurricane or two showing up. This can happen in October, but is less likely, especially for the latter part of the month.

Weather is warm, so swimming is no problem.

The biggest "issue" or negative is that the parks will generally reduce their hours.

Bottom line is either date is better than staying here :animwink:

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
I say go in Sept, you will have the parks all to yourself just about. Everything will be a walk on (Except Test Track which will be a 15min wait).

In Oct you have more crowds that come for the MNSSHP.

This is also my opinions from actual experiences.

Oct is great

My wife and I have been twice in October (around the 10th) and we could not have asked for better weather. We had one day with some rain each time we went, but over all the trips were great.

The biggest suggestion I have is that you should avoid Columbus Day weekend. It is typically very crowded that weekend and following Monday.

Have a great trip.

I have been there both times. September was less crowded... deserted, really, and both Sept trips were before 9/11 (1998 and 2000). The Oct trip was in 2002 and the parks were a lot more crowded, however, if you do go in Oct, the Halloween party is a LOT of fun. Both months were hot enough for swimming. We got rainy days all 3 trips but figured hey, that's Florida. We had sunshine too. I do know that Sept falls within hurricane season and I'm not sure about Oct.

I hope that's somewhat helpful

We have been both in Sept and Oct. Sept trip - first day was 9/11 so everyone who was leaving was stuck at the resort and it still was dead. We walked on almost every ride.

We tend to go though more in Oct due to lower temperatures and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party - it is a blast, especially with children.

We are thinking about November for this year. Temps are still higher in Oct than we like and the crowds seem to be getting thicker in Oct.

Also the Food and Wine Festival in Epcot runs the entire month of Oct so that is an added bonus. We always try to schedule our vacations to be there for that.

Meega, nala kwishta!
Yep, October is the month for us as well for all the same reasons as above. And like swordsman_24 said, the only "bad" day would be Columbus Day weekend. And it really MK that has the high crowds that weekend, the other parks are usally ok.

Have fun!

No more Octobers...

The secret is out...We have gone to WDW for the past four Octobers and this last one was more crowded than Spring Break or an early Summer day. Everyone is wanting to see the Halloween Party. Lines were soooo long and you could hardly walk to get from ride to ride on the MNSSHP night. We are switching to another month...February was nice...

About 10 of us are making another pilgrimage to WDW the first of October. All the kids are back in school and the parks are great to go to. Good weather and less crowds.

This is about my 5th trip during early October and I've yet to be dissapointed by crowd levels.
