sensitive question

Hi all. I have a question that is kinda sensitive and I don't mean to offend anyone. That being said, my family and I are going to the world in May and we are, well, overweight. My question is this, can larger size people ride EE? We did have a slight problem with Kali as we were a little wide for the seats a couple years ago. All responses welcome.

I'm heavy and have had no problem riding it at all!

I think they have an extra car off to the side where you can discretely 'test' your fit. If you ask a CM, they'll assist.

Neither did I, although my cousin who is 7 ft. tall and weighs around 375 did have quite a problem, he managed to fit though. I weigh about 260 and am 6 ft. tall if that helps to give you a frame of reference.

It also depends on where you carry your weight! If you have a big belly and chest but a smaller rear and thighs then most of the rides should be no problem but, if you have a big butt and thighs like me then some rides can be a little tight. I have not been on EE yet because we were last there in 2005 before it was completed, we are however scheduled to arrive on April 22nd. I rode Kali, and it was a little snug, I have had no problems with any other rides, although I have not gone on Space Mountain in years(many pounds ago) or Rock n RC , quite frankly I am afraid that it would just be too tight! Don't worry, you'll have a great time!
PS. Dinosaur is not the ride for you if you have big thighs because the side of the seats are hard and it is TIGHT!

As a larger person, I actually found the EE cars quite comfortable. And I don't just mean that I fit, I mean I fit and they were comfortable to sit in to boot! Some of the best designed (as far as taking into account many different sizes of people) that I've ridden in. Enjoy!

We have a pretty heavy member in our family. I would say about 250 lbs and about 5'6" tall and they had no problem riding anything at all. Go and have a blast:)

I have some problems with some rides. Im a bodybuilder with very wide shoulders, small waist, and very thick legs........If the lap bar comes over my thighs, forget it. I have a 56 inch chest and I fit EE with no problem. Enjoy!!

Im 6'2, 370 and was not able to ride E.E. Not because I couldnt fit in the ride vehicle, but because the restraint system would not lock down. The restraint system locks in a downward motion position and if you are above average height and big hipped type body structure, you may have problems.

I'm 6'3" 320lbs did not have a problem with EE. In fact the only ride I've really felt uncomfortable on - which I should have been on to start with was Goofy's Barnstormer. I really liked the way the lap bar worked (EE) in that its split so its adjustable for each rider. This way its lower for my kids when they are sitting next to me. Anyway have fun.

Hi I am always worried aboutthis kind of thing but now after riding most of the rides it does not even cross my mind. I was worried alot about the Kali seat belts and we even had room to spare. So when we went on EE
I was not too worried..and for good reason it did not seem squishy at all. If I remember correcty each person has they're own lap bar, I thought this was a very nice feature (so did my skinnier husband) lol. I guess it really depends on ones build. Thank you. Hope this helps.

First off, I'd like to thank all who replied. Even my hubby was impressed with the quickness and kindness of all who responded. I did check out the other site suggested and was impressed. Shared with hubby too.

My sis and I are both about 5'9", size 28, with pear shape and large chest. My hubby and his dad have tummies and mom is 6 ft tall with a round lower half. My niece is right where she should be for her age (wish I had her energy at times). We jokingly call ourselves "the Fat Family".

We choose to go to Disney for our vacations as we find them more "plus size" friendly. We had a slight problem in 2003 with Kali but we were still able to ride. When we went in 2005, we got to ride everything we wanted and that was a great feeling. Dinosaur was great and was a first time for mom (she loved it). Hubby, sis, and I are more for the thrill rides, the parents like the sitting type rides that don't drop or twist you around, the young one loves the kid friendly rides, and Disney provides something for all of us. We took our niece on BTMRR in 2005 when she was only 5. She freaked out at the time but now wants to take Papa on it. Niece said ToT might be something new to try. And Mom has agreed to try Splash Mountain despite fear of heights. Knowing we can ride EE this time has been like a weight lifted off our shoulders.

Again, thanks for all who responded. And if you're in the parks between May 22 and June 1, 2007 and see a family consisting of 5 adults and a 6 yr old princess, just say hi. Good chance it'll be us.

I am a big guy here and have to agree with everyone else, I have not had problems with most rides at WDW when it comes to size. The tightest fit for me is the teacups, harder to spin the wheel with my gut in the way. I have had issues at other parks with shoulder harnesses on various roller coasters but the ones at Disney have all worked pretty well.

I had trouble on Barnstormer (way back when my kids were little) and I'm only 5'4" and sometimes a bit plump (when I don't exercise enough and binge on junk) but weighed only 125 when I rode it.

Not that it's an issue anymore, but the shared lap bar was a problem the first time I went on Primeval Whirl with my then ?10 year old son. Now he's taller and heavier than I, so I'll be the one sliding next time.

DS12 was surprised this February at Primeval Whirl that they no longer had the extra pad to adjust the shared lap bar. Used to be if we were sharing they'd add on a foam tube to make up the difference betwixt my belly and his skinny little runt body! :lookaroun

It'll be a few years yet until he's big enough for me to be the one sliding...

Heading for the great escape.
Speaking as a salad dodger I cant think of a single ride at Disney that cant take my frame. However at Universal I have to use rows 3 or 5 to get an over shoulder restraint with modified straps.
