Secretly Spent Nite @ MK?

Has anyone ever secretly spent the night or know of someone that has spent the night in the Magic Kingdom after the park closed? My family and I just got back from WDW and for fun were discussing how would one secretly stay at the park after it closes.

Where would you set up camp?
How would you do it?

Anyone else have any ideas or thoughts or experiences?

Been there... going back!

My aunt is a CM in security at Disney, and she always tells me how amaezed she is at the number of people who try to stay in the parks overnight. Even her son tried once, which was an embarassment to her to no end. As far as she knows, no one has ever made it through the night and until opening of the park the next day without getting caught. (And if you get caught, well, you don't want to know what the Mouse Mafia do to you! :animwink: )

So your aunt is a part of the secret society of the Mouse Mafia. I thought this Thread might get some quick hits. Im intereested to see what other stories are out there. It would seem almost easy to pull it off. Just set up camp in the bushes and sleep until morning. Maybe they want me to think it's that easy! Keep them coming!

Disney eyes

Disney parks and WDW in particular have the highest number of security cameras in the USA with the only exception being Las Vegas casinos. There are sites out there describing the shear number and areas of cameras. So they see you when u think they cant!!!

I wonder if they lock the bathrooms. I would try to setup camp behind the old skyway building in Fantasy Land. I hope there is no poison ivy!

They chain you to a bench inside the Country Bear Jamboree and force you to watch the show continuously all night.

Just the thought makes me want to hold my hands up on Space Mountain.

Sorry....this just reminded me of our last night at WDW a few weeks ago. My DS age 9 and I stayed for Epcot's EMH.....so it was midnight when we left the Imagination pavillion. Of course he had to use the restroom, so we went around the corner. When he came out, he got really worried about us being "locked" into Epcot all night and kept saying, "Hurry, they are going to lock us in!". :lookaroun

I had to keep reassuring him that they would never "forget" anybody in the park, they would make sure everyone was out.....

Then we had a long discussion on how they make sure everyone is out for the night.........hmmmm, I do wonder how they "sweep" all that space........

Well, I slept overnight in DCA, but it wasn't secretly. There were a couple thousand guests spending the night as well. It was cool sleeping in the park and seeing the sunrise above the Tower of Terror that morning.

MK would be a tough one. I can think of a way to pull it off at Epcot without extreme difficulty (BUT, I will keep that to myself).

The problem with staying in-park, however, is that you would have to remain pretty much still for the entire night. There really isn't much time that any park doesn't have CMs around. Granted, they are not looking, but you would stick out like a sore thumb, especially if you didn't look slightly disgruntled about being awak through the night and without a uniform/nametag.

And I have been at Epcot at about every hour of the day. And, let me tell you. When the park IS pretty much empty, especially back stage at around 3:30 AM, IT IS KINDA CREEPY! It was just me and the plants...

Actually Florida law states that cameras can be placed anywhere including bathrooms and fitting rooms as long as sound is not recorded; so Disney could use them in "private" areas if they so desired.

Back to the original topic....

It would be difficult for anyone to stay inside any of the theme parks. After the park is closed and deemed to be clear of all "visible" guests. Each security team at each park begins in the back and sweeps the entire park with canine units who will find anyone wishing to "sleep over" and escort them out of the park.

When I was in High School I had a few friends who would sneak into the park via an area over by SM. After a few successful entries the area was secured and they got "caught" by Disney security but they didn't prosecute. They were luckily far enough away from the jump point that security thought they were just being nosey.

Not really, children under the age of three/in strollers don't go through the turnstiles, plus, at the end of the night, you don't necissarily go back through the turnstiles, they just open the gates and let people through.

In the book "Behind the Ears" by Dave Koening, there are a few stories about people who attempted to stay the night at Disneyland. Good book, I highly recommend it.
