Secret Passage in Animal Kingdom

I had been on it many times back when DAK first opened, but the last few times I tried, the path was blocked with a trash can and planters. Perhaps it's open again?

BTW, I would consider the blockade to mean that guests were NOT supposed to walk on the path, even if they could squeeze by. (as I saw someone do)

Well as of this past weekend the stream levels have decreased making the path once again passable and there is nothing blocking the entrance to it.

Maybe Disney read this thread ;) I remember when the park opened that Disney publicized the presence of this hidden path. I would imagine the lawyers closed it in recent years but with the U.S.'s slow move away from political correctness these past few years (thankfully...I'm glad to see the Jungle Cruise and Pirates back the way they were at Disneyland), perhaps they decided it was okay to reopen this path. As long as you don't see any clear obstructions or signs, it's open...

The path that takes you close to the Tree of Life is also on the park map. You can see a path heading east from the entrance to Harambe (but still on Discovery Island) and a similar path heading west from the entrance to Asia...the paths don't actually meet on the map b/c the Tree of Life is in the way, but they do meet in real life. I love these little secrets at AK...I had been hoping for some similar paths near Everest...

I love to walk on the old ITTBAB queue to get those up close views of the Tree of Life. I actually miss having the entrance to the show there because of the views, but at least they didn't close up this path. At night (during EHM evenings), and you're the only person in that area, it is a very weird feeling because you really do feel like you are the only person in the park.
