Trip Report Second Star to the Right and Straight on Till Morning…. A two week trip report! COMPLETED!

It’s been almost a month since we left, and so much has happened since then… a most wonderful trip filled with crazy open to close park days and days full of relaxing…. Travel back with me to Sunday, August 13th~ our departure day.
Who? Me (Stephanie), hubby Scott, daughter Cassidy 9 and daughter Chelsea 6.

Our goal was to leave by 9am. The car was packed up and we were headed out of south Jersey by about 9:15, respectively. It’s crazy when you’re packing for a trip (especially a 2 week trip) to Disney. There’s so many things we didn’t want to forget…. So many last minute lists. Alas, we had everything and were ready and excited to spend the next 2 weeks together. We had reservations at a Fairfield Inn in Hardeeville, South Carolina - roughly 10.5 hours from home. Our goal was to drive as much as we could on Sunday and then finish up the ride on Monday. We hit a bit of traffic in Maryland (after D.C. surprisingly). Set us back an hour, but no biggie. Kids were happy on their devices and we had lunch literally on the road as I got a hoagie for us to eat. We got to Hardeeville about 9pm, had a couple beers after the kids went to bed and then called it night.

Time for a big donut from Geoffrey’s outside Mission Space! Mom got a coffee, kids split a big donut! Luckily the rain started to subside.

Day 5: Hollywood Studios
We swam in the am and then headed over to HS. We had ADRs for Woody‘s Roundup at about 530.
I wasn’t feeling so good in the am (perhaps I had a smidge too much the night before in Epcot 😉)
Anyway, I still made the best of it and we had a blast at HS.
We started out watching the Mickey and Minnie’s vacation show. It was cute! Then we had LL for Mickey and Minnie’s Railroad…. Love it!

Up next: Day 6- Sunday
We had originally planned to go to MK and then head over to Poly to watch fireworks from the beach (anyone ever done this? Your thoughts?) but we decided to take it easy in the am, go swimming and then we headed to MK for a nice late evening there. The relaxing morning and afternoon was necessary after going strong in the parks for 5 days. We had a late start to the day, went swimming and then headed to MK around 3ish. We didn’t take many pics. We had dinner at Picos Bills (yummy) and then did a couple things we hadn’t done yet and then headed home for an early night. We never made it to Poly. Next time we will really try to make it there to experience this…. Speaking of next time, we just booked a week at Yacht starting Aug 17th with the free Disney dining plan! We’ve never stayed at Yacht and have never had the DDP either. I can’t wait!

So day 7 - Monday is broken up into 3 events… Universal, Epcot and more family joining us….
Let’s begin with Universal… Cassidy has read almost all of the HP books and so Scott and I decided a day in Universal for the 2 of them would be really nice…It was not cheap, but they loved it. I wasn’t there so I will just post the pics. I know my daughter really loved all the different lands and she started watching Simpsons upon our arrival home from our long trip

So their day at US was amazing. They want to go back again soon!

Chelsea and I did Epcot and it was so much fun to just spend the day doing what we wanted to do. My sister and her family were on their way down and we knew when we got back to the room they'd be there waiting for us!
I made reservations for the two of us at Akershus and it didn’t disappoint. Although she’s a picky six year old eater, we did find things that she liked… overall I went in with the notion that she wasn’t going to eat much but she wound up eating more than I thought…. Not $48 worth, but it’s okay. She was Ariel for the day! She picked Epcot bc she wanted to ride GotG 😆

Tuesday- Day off from the parks… it was a chill, swim, relax day with dinner at the Beach Club at Cape May Cafe! Yum!
We really enjoyed the pool. Weather was great and the kids had fun at the splash pad (not pictured).
