Trip Report Second Star to the Right and Straight on Till Morning…. A two week trip report! COMPLETED!

It’s been almost a month since we left, and so much has happened since then… a most wonderful trip filled with crazy open to close park days and days full of relaxing…. Travel back with me to Sunday, August 13th~ our departure day.
Who? Me (Stephanie), hubby Scott, daughter Cassidy 9 and daughter Chelsea 6.

Our goal was to leave by 9am. The car was packed up and we were headed out of south Jersey by about 9:15, respectively. It’s crazy when you’re packing for a trip (especially a 2 week trip) to Disney. There’s so many things we didn’t want to forget…. So many last minute lists. Alas, we had everything and were ready and excited to spend the next 2 weeks together. We had reservations at a Fairfield Inn in Hardeeville, South Carolina - roughly 10.5 hours from home. Our goal was to drive as much as we could on Sunday and then finish up the ride on Monday. We hit a bit of traffic in Maryland (after D.C. surprisingly). Set us back an hour, but no biggie. Kids were happy on their devices and we had lunch literally on the road as I got a hoagie for us to eat. We got to Hardeeville about 9pm, had a couple beers after the kids went to bed and then called it night.

It’s been a busy fall here. Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. I’m a teacher and I coach girls soccer at my middle school. This makes for a super busy fall. Soccer is over now so I have more time.

Anyway, I’m watching the Eagles today and hanging out.

More Epcot pics!
Enjoying adult beverages from the outdoor kiosk from Hawaii.

Checking out the GotG queue.

We rode GotG so many times on this trip. It’s amazing and one of my favorites! The girls love it too!

We ate a late dinner in Italy at Tutto Gusto. It was very nice! I’d definitely eat there again.

Park Day #2: Animal Kingdom
We love Animal Kingdom but it is our least favorite of the 4 parks. With that said, we rode everything we wanted before 1pm. We had ADRs for Yak & Yeti at 3:30. We rope dropped because we knew we’d be leaving the park after Yak & Yeti. We did Expedition Everest about 3 times in a row; hopped on the safari (our driver was amazing); ran over to Kali River Rapids. We had much time before our ADR so we decided to go to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. The train ride was hot. The air flow was nonexistent, so that was disappointing bc we were hoping to cool off during this train trip, but alas, we did not. After disembarking, we walked through lush gardens and came upon the petting zoo and the main building. I have to be honest that it left much to be desired. I don’t know what I was expecting but there just wasn’t much there to do. (my advice would be a playground for the kids or something). It was fun, but probably won’t venture back there next time. Before our ADRs we did “It’s Tough to be a Bug” and man was that show scary. I forgot how scary it was. There were other kids screaming so much in terror…. even I closed my eyes lol. Definitely won’t be doing that one again, but I heard it’s supposed to be turning into a show based on Zootopia and I hope it’s not as scary as the current show.
Finally, we had our yummy (early) dinner. I love Yak & Yeti and will eat there again for sure!

Breakfast from Friar’s Nook. Yum! I mobile order it as soon as we get into the park and then by the time we get back to Fantasy Land, it’s ready! We’re definitely fans of mobile ordering.

We got to ride Under the Sea together! This never happens because we always have to split up because of the young kiddos.

We left around 8 as we knew we’d be back to MK 2 more times this trip. Unfortunately, we never saw the castle nighttime show. 😔 I think for our next trip we’ll get the dessert package so we can’t leave early. Haha
Take note of my new Mickey hat. It’s a Nike one…. The only bad thing about it is that the Mickey is sewn in and the underneath part bulged out and would rub against my head. Other than that, I love the hat and how it looked.

We took the ferry back to the TTC and the sunset did not dissapoint. Such a lovely way to end a busy, fun day in Disney!
