"Seatbelt Fail"

I believed all of that until i read the last sentence. "uhh 911? a guest just rode tot with no seatbelt, can you send the police" lol "no we never checked his seatbelt..."

Some one would lose their job.

There are usually some sort of 'official' LEO on property to begin with - both in WDW and DL. That is who would be called. It would not go to emergency response (seeing as it is not an emergency).

I don't know about the trespassing charge though. Maybe willful endangerment or if they broke/cut the seatbelt then destruction of property. If they leave the ride vehicle, then sure, trespassing. But if you leave the ToT ride vehicle during the drop, then I suppose you have bigger problems on your hands.

Police depts do have non-911 lines available for issues that need a policeman but are not a true emergency. Disney security would "hold" the person until the police arrive.

Unfortunately, too many people have difficulty understanding the difference between an emergency and nonemergency, or they're just too lazy to look up the correct number, so they abuse the 911 line.

Correct. I really didn't feel like pointing out something that should be so obvious, though.

As phonedave said, you'd probably have bigger problems on your hands if you had disengaged the seatbelt. You could potentially sustain severe injuries or even death.

I'm thinking that if the photo was real it wouldn't have made it to the monitors. All you would have seen was a Red X over the photo.

Exactly what I said. I saw a DOG on Tower at Studios. Needless to say the CM at load was fired (that wasn't his first offense either, I won't get into the rest) and the Tower Control CM was reprimanded for not seeing the dog on the monitors.

WHAT?! Is that legit? If so that is NUTS!

Slightly OT, but nowerdays you can`t ride if you try to do that. Just in case someone fancied replicating the image. That`s all I`ll say.

Don't think it's photoshopped, no artifacts and such. And the angles and lighting match too well. It is a picture taken off a monitor. Looks to me like the idiot climbed out of the loose lap bar and grabbed onto the wired ceiling right as the pic was taken. Tremendously stupid move. Wouldn't be surprised if he was caught and taken to security.

Do you seriously not understand that Anaheim PD would be called to write a no trespassing order on the guest ?

Why wouldn't Disney place a no trespassing order on a guest who was stupid enough to endanger both his life and the life of other guests?

That still doesn't beat the service dog that made it on the Tower at Studios...

I've posted this story on other boards (I may have done it here, but it was before I was on WDWMagic...I think I posted about it over at MC when I still visited their site), but you just reminded me of my trip to DCA back in 2005...

I was riding ToT by myself while my sister waited, and made some conversation to another lady riding alone while waiting for the preshow doors to open. I mentioned how I had never been on ToT at DCA but that it was one of my favorite attractions in WDW. I mentioned that I always had to ride it alone because no one in my family liked it.

She turned to me and said, "Oh yeah, I like it so much I bring my dog - it's one of his favorites too!" Then she proceeded to open her very large purse and there was a chihuahua in there (yes, I am completely serious).

The doors opened a few seconds later (as I stood in stunned silence), and I let her go in ahead of me, so I could stop the CM and tell her. I was shaking...I couldn't believe that crazy lady was gonna take a dog on there! I don't think the CM believed me, but she promised to tell someone at the queue.

Just in case, I stopped another CM in the boiler room, pointed her out as she made her way across (I went one way she went another), and he said he would stop her. He came up a second later and asked me very seriously "Are you SURE she has a dog, she insists she doesn't." I assured him that she had opened the bag and shown me the dog (my guess is, they couldn't ask her to open her bag unless they were sure...oh yeah, I was sure...shocked, but sure!

Since I went one way and she another (the queue for DCA's ToT is a little different from DHS so I couldn't see her), I assume (and hope) she was escorted out. I just don't understand how she got the dog through security into DL. Clearly it wasn't a service dog...although I've noticed that if you chat with security sometimes they forget to check your bag thoroughly...that's my guess.

All I know is, that was such a bizarre moment for me on that trip...I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it was the most bizarre WDW or DL moment for me overall.

Wow, I haven't thought about that story in years..

Actually, I do know how it would be handled. I have talked to many people who are CM's (even those who work Tower) and they have told me these things. In addition, this particular photo has been discussed at length around the various CM forums.

Lightened in PS you can plainly see the guys shadow on the wall of the elevator car. And it's not a fake drop shadow filter from PS.
The angles from the light are where they should be and everything.

How do you explain the rest of everything going on? No one else is falling/floating except for him.

As someone said early on, the only way this can happen is if he was hanging from the cage at the top of the car.
