Is there any truth to the rumor that there is a cost saving measure being tossed around to close the parks seasonaly. I really dont believe that that could happen but has anyone heard this as well.
Was that a Jim Hill rumour?
Nope. From an actual person. (friends wife who is a CM)

I've met Jim Hill before and can confirm that he too is, in fact, an actual person.Nope. From an actual person. (friends wife who is a CM)

The rumor I heard was that Animal Kingdom might be closed a couple days of the week if the economy gets worse and attendance drops drastically.
So far park attendance is doing well so it probably won't happen.

Kevin Yee posted an article in which he basically talked about the worse case scenario. Fortunately, Disney isn't in that position at this time.
I don't think they ever will be either.
He speculated about such a scenario. I question the validity of the entire rumor.
Woooow that would be terrible!
I can't imagine them closing an entire park a few days a week.
I can see maybe closing all parks a little early during non-busy times or something like that, but closing an entire park???
I'll tell ya...I'd be ed if we were going for a short trip, looking forward to AK and it's closed...
What are you talking about? They already close the parks earlier in the "off-season." Epcot seems to be the only park that has the same hours all year (with an occasional exception here and there). Disney's contigency plans to close one park one day a week is predicated on the economy being so bad that the Company loses money with all four parks being open. DAK and DHS would be the parks that closed. Each one one day per week.

Actually, I didn't see anything remotely resembling speculation in that article. It seemed pretty much clear reporting of the facts.
And funny that park attendance has been okay, so those feared park closures aren't necessary, yet TWDC continues to say things like this:
"Disney officials told the station the layoffs fall under three categories:
• Restructuring back office operations in all parks and resorts.
• Improving operational efficiencies.
• A need for fewer positions because of falling demand at the parks and resorts."

Except it wasn't sourced and he is the only one who has come up with the rumor. Not sure how that constitutes "fact".
And I don't fear what is not happening. I only fear false reporting of "facts".
