The only thing I'm worried about is that by the time a refurb does happen will it actually be so crowded that it's not worth it to shut down a whole land for a few years.

That is why they should wait until SWL gives back capacity plus a little more room. DL will still be crowded but should be better once TL is finished. The whole area (NOT SWL) could be nuked from orbit and started over again.

Wow, the Galactic Grill menu looks great. I find it very interesting how much Disneyland has upped their food game over the last five years. Especially the "quick service" and casual places, the food at Disneyland has really improved compared to 15 years ago.

Isn't that Mary's hand? It really all started with the punting of McDonalds and the DCA reboot of paradise pier. From there they've really seemed to stick to the new formula.

I think you mean "turning point of the war" not "genesis of the war". The Civil War didn't start at Gettysburg. It started at Fort Sumter. I have to agree with you however. Schools have done a terrible job teaching history. The Civil War was the bloodiest and biggest event the country ever endured. I think everyone should be well versed in the war at least enough to understand Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln and to visit Gettysburg. They are hugely emotionally moving experiences once the context is understood. Without the resulting 13th & 14th amendments, the State could allow you to be put in slavery, your possessions sold or your self executed for no reason except you skin color, race or religious affiliation.

Uhh.. re-read what I posted. 'genesis of the war' was not connected to Gettysburg at all in my post. They are separate points my friend was not familiar with (vs simply saying.. he had no idea what Gettysburg was about).

Where did you get that in my post? The point was the guy lives here, and has for a long time... but don't assume just because he's around here, he knows or is familiar as you with the same things. He grew up in Canada... he's not taught the same domestic history lessons a kid growing up in VA is.

I think it would be really successful. At least we would have a real AA show in the America Sings building instead of Best Buy / Museum exhibit.

Alien Encounter was supposed to be in the Mission to Mars building. America Sings was gonna be replaced by a new AA show called "Plectu's Galactic Revue." The reason I specifically brought up Alien Encounter is due to me wondering if it would have suffered the same fate as MK with parents dragging their kids on it despite warnings then complain about their traumatized child right after at City Hall.

Disneyland has a different demographic. We don't have a MOM Mafia that WDW has and we have less tourists. We would probably love AE except maybe those that still wish Mission to Mars was still there.

Hmm well you are right. Though lord knows what would have happen if they stuck to the original plan and used a Xenomorph.

What's funny is that the idea of using a Xenomorph is actually what caused AE to constantly be shelved until it debuted at MK. While it was being developed many Senior Imagineers kept begging Eisner to shut the project down from its days as a Nostromo dark ride. I think even at one point George Lucas intervened as well.

How could this be true? I seriously doubt they built six new AA figures of Finn to fly the Star Speeder. I don't think this reporter knows what he is talking about. Who is co-piloting BB-8?

The OC Register makes this clearer. C3PO is still piloting. They do dip into Jakku where Finn gets on the side screen and asks "Star Tours what are you doing here?" The ride then goes thru the crashed star destroyer. A hologram of BB-8 has been added to the Ackbar/Leia/Yoda scene to deliver the rebel spy to a new location. Afterwards ever thing is the same.
