Searching for the location

Hi all, some friends of mine are going to WDW as a family for the first time with their 5 year old son who would like to see the "stars" from the Cars movie. I saw a picture with people standing with these "character cars" in Hollywood Studios but can't locate where it is. Can anyone help me out?

There is a meet and greet to the left of the Lights Motors Action entrance...kind of behind Muppet Vision. I can't pin-point EXACTLY where it is because I have never taken my picture there, but i've walked by it plenty of times...it's definitely in the vacinity of the latter half of Streets of America.

You are correct - Mater & McQueen are in DHS. They built them a "garage." As for their location, I'm looking at the DHS map and trying to reconcile my memories, with the actual map.

I thought they were back near the Backlot tour and Studio Catering Co., but there is no indication of that on the map. :shrug: Maybe I've lost my marbles and they are in the character spot next to Mamma Melrose's?

I get turned around so easily in that back part of DHS!

Oh - Okay, based on the above I'd say they are definitely right there next to Mamma Melrose's.

just checked live.com and you're right kind of...and so was I. if you are walking down the streets of America towards Lights Motors Action and take a left when you get to the end of the street as if you're heading towards Muppets and Mamma Melrose, it'll be on your right. It's directly behind Muppets actually.

They used to have a temporary home just down from where Toy Story Mania is, which is I think why people have a tough time remembering where they are, as they have moved. As said, they are now in the Streets of America. If you are coming from the main part of the park, walk between MuppetVision and the Toy Story Pizza Planet restaurant and follow the walkway, and you're headed right at them. The location is where you used to meet Woody and Friends at Al's Toy Barn before they built the M&G across from Toy Story Mania.

Also, check your park guide as they aren't always there. Here's an online link that has the park hours, etc including M&Gs, but only for a week ahead.

Tell them to have fun, we have some great pics with McQueen and Mater. Just make sure they prepare their son if he is small that it is loud there and Lightning revs his engine and can startle small children if you aren't prepared.

Also, check your park guide as they aren't always there.

Luigi's Garage is currently open from park open until park close. The line is the longest just after a Muppet-Vision show ends. (It is often non-existent, just before the show dump)

mwbrown is correct that the Cars are quite loud. I've seen quite a few adults get startled by McQueen when he revs his engine.
