I want to take my dad to Sci-Fi because I know he'll love it.. all the cheesy old movie trailers he seen as a kid.. but i have a problem.

If we go to there it will be my dad, my wife, and me. So how do we fit 3 people into one of those cool cars? I can't figure it out.. I want to talk to him about all the movies going on and the trip is really for him since its kind of his first time to disney world so I wanted to sit with him.. but then i felt stupid having my wife sit by herself in the other seat.. but then I feel bad having him sit by himself... and if they both sit together i can't talk about the movies with him. Hmm.. how to do this?:brick:

Hmmm that is quite a conundrum. I've only ever been there in an even numbered group. You could always give up part of the "experience" and sit in one of those round tables instead of in a car. Other than that, I don't know what other options you might have.

My guess is they will offer you a round table. I want to say they have a "booth" style car, but I think my memory is incorrect on that one.

Who sat by themselves?
My boyfriend and I sat in the front and our friend sat in the back. It really wasn't a problem.
I'd say to sit with your dad since you're going there for him. Would your wife be bothered by it? Maybe she could sit in the front and you two in the back so she could hear you better.

You and your wife in the back
your dad in the front then you can still talk to him and stuff.

They have some cars that have seating going along the length of the car instead of in rows of 2 across the car. The other alternative is one of the round tables. Enjoy!

When you make your ADR ask them to note that you would like to sit at a table, not a booth. They have a few cars that have a table top off of the front of the car with 6 chairs lining the sides and also a few round picnic tables in the back. Then, when you go to check in, bring it up. Disney does their darndest to accomodate and you should have no problems. Have a great meal and a great trip!

It's like sitting in the back seat of your regular car!
No trouble talking to the people sitting in the front seat at all!

If your wife is normally a "backseat driver", that might be just the seat for her!

Actually, I'd sit in the back because its easier to talk "forward" than to have to keep turning around and "talking backwards".

Not my favorite place for food, but it sure is a fun experience to try once or twice with "new" visitors!

HAVE FUN!

I don't know you or your wife, but I will just offer this. I am sure that your wife will really enjoy getting to see you and your Dad share this special memory. Let her sit behind you alone, while you and your Dad sit together. There will be plenty to engage her with the trailers going on, so it's not like she will be bored.

Just my opinion:wave:

Maybe you could get side by side cars. When we were there in Nov we had a group of 8, so they put us in two adjoining cars. If you did this instead of having 2 in front and 1 in back(or vice versa), you could have 2 on one side and 1 on the other side. If hearing is an issue the person with hearing trouble could then be in the middle.

I can taste the bacon cheeseburger with swiss and mushrooms now!:slurp:

Ask to sit in a "limo". They have two tables with four chairs each inside the front and back car facades, so it's just regular table and chairs but with car decoration. These are more fun than the patio seats in the back.

There's definitely face to face seating.

When we took the in-laws we sat 2,2, & 2: in-laws in back, DH & me in middle, DS1 & DS2 in front. We had no problem carrying on a nice conversation. It was a lot of fun.

If there's 3 of ya I'd sit 2 in back and 1 in front. The 1 in front can turn sideways in the seat and prop their back against the side so they're sitting sideways. When the food is in front of you you'll be eating and not talking so it's not a big deal.
