can anyone please TRY lol,,,to explain this?
i know its hard to explain a taste of a food,,,i hear about this..but have no idea what it is like

I just tried school bread for the frist time last month. It was very good. It's a round bread with a sort of filling, similar to custard in the middle and on top. There's also coconut on top. The bread has a sweet flavor to it, I think, but not too overpowering.

I tried both School Bread and Lefse about 3 weeks ago. Not sure I'll ever have either again. Both are good, not great. The School Bread was just way too much custard filling. The Lefse was better, in my opinion, but it was still just OK.

Both are worth trying once, if for no other reason than to fulfill your curiosity. Plus, they're cheap.

my husband hates coconut too but he scraped it off and and then he loved it.

The custard has a distinctive flavor that will delight fans of vanilla. I liked the coconut icing better before they switched to the toasted stuff but the snack is still very good overall.

School bread is super cheap by Disney standards and keeps for 1-2 days without refrigeration. Take a few back to your room for breakfast or midnight snack!

According to wiki it was a common pastry put in school lunches, hence the name.

Sometimes the bread/pastry is, well, "plain" - sort of like a plain doughnut is plain.

Other times I have had it LOADED with cardamom.

Somtimes it has just a hit of cardamom.

Maybe they need a better mixer ?

Cardamom is common in Norwegian baking (at least my born-in-Norway grandmother used to use a lot of it)

Where do they sell the school bread? I've never heard of it and it sounds like something I'd like to try. Your descriptions remind me of a Danish Puff Pastry I've made, which I love. The difference though would be the outside pastry part is more like a sweet sort of pie crust/filo pasty and not bread like.

They are sold in the bakery in Norway. Another incredibly pastry sold there that you might want to try are the sweet pretzels.

Tried school bread last month simply because I had never done so. It tasted quite good, but my main thought while eating was....."That's a whole lot of sugar!"

I didn't think it was sweet like that. We had it last time in 2009 De and its really good. Not sweet as in the bread part of it but the icing is more sweet. I did not have coonut on it when we got it.. Its still a must as the bakery in France OMG!!! Stuff is so so good and NOT sweet whatever we got just plain good..
