Tried school bread last month simply because I had never done so. It tasted quite good, but my main thought while eating was....."That's a whole lot of sugar!"

The pastry is the consistency somewhere between a doughnut and a bagel. Not as airy or sweet as a doughnut but not as dense and chewy as a bagel. The filling is thick and rich. The texture and sweetness added by the coconut and icing seals the deal on this perfect pastry.
