This is scary stuff, I have never witnessed this sort of thing in the UK before. They even considered closing Heathrow. This is serious.

There are diagrams in the newspaper of how a terrorist could get a rocket launcher and fire it at an aircraft as it is descending. I got a horrible image of the people a plane just as that is about to happen. There is nothing anybody could do to prevent it.

We have been warned about terror attacks before, but measures have never been enforced to this extent.

This is the first time I have ever felt fear about the whole war/terroist issue. There is nothing you can do about so just remain optimistic. Situations in the past such as the Cuban Missle Crisis and the Cold War had people scared, but nothing ever evolved from it. Just live for the moment and be happy.

I believe they've got extra guards around all british airports now, but the intelligence appears to have been Heathrow specific.

yeh i also saw it this morning ont he news, and it scared me, never has anything like this happened in britian, even here in northern ireland we have are local ta doing to job at the airport.

but in all honesty, is there any REAL way he could stop it?

i may be put on someone's hate list for what i'm about to say...but i'm glad to see that the US isn't the only country being targeted. don't get me wrong, i don't want anything bad to happen to anybody, and i'd give anything if things could go back to the way they were pre-9/11. but it's just a comfort for me to know that the US doesn't stand alone in the fight against terror!

Dont be, thats what they want. The govts want fear cause they can fight an unpopular war with less resistance, terrorists want fear cause that s how a few hundred rag tags can take on military force. As for the Heathrow thing, PIRA had/have SAMs and threatened to use them throughout the 80s and 90s there not just something you can pick up and use.

Chemical weapons are again something that is very complex to deliver and to use efectively. Isnt it funny how all this has happened as the links with Al Quida and Sadman have grown more tenuous. But of course our politicians would never lie??????

I'm kind of nervouse, because next week, I'll be traveling by air to Disneyland CA. The terrorists aren't that stupid enough to do another terrorist attack by air planes. Wish me luck.
