Say bye-bye to E-Ride Nights and Plaza Pavilion

E-ride nights were definitely back last summer. I went to two of them at the end of June. If I remember correctly, last year at this time they discontinued e-ride and did the extra magic hour only to bring back e-ride in the summer.

As for the Plaza Pavillion, I think a change is a good idea. Personally, I would love to see some good Mexican food come in. There's no place to get fajitas down there!

Noodles. Great. What kind of noodles? Thai noodles like pad see ew? Or Japanese noodles like udon? Or Chinese noodles like mai fun? I hate culinary gentrification, which is what "Asian noodles" sounds like to me. It's probably going to be more along the lines of Ramen noodles. We'll see.

I, for one, support getting rid of the e-ride nights (although i'm not too much of a fan of the EMH evenings). Now that attendance is back to pre-2001 levels, its time to start leaving the MK open till Midnight again for everyone during the summer rather than those 10 PM closings we saw this year.

When I read about the Noodle Place the first thought that came to my mind was something out of The 5th Element or Blade Runner. Some big Asian neon signs in the themeing and it might work.

*sigh* well, I can't say I'm extremely happy about the Plaza change. I wasn't happy when they changed the pizza in Future World, but was okay with it when I discovered that the Plaza offered pizza which was very similar to that of FW's (before FW changed it, that is). I had to go to the Plaza at least once a trip to eat their pizza (greasy, yes, but tastey). *sigh* where am I to get pizza like that now?
I suppose the change could be worse, though. I'm a very picky eater, but do love good Asian food! I'll miss the pizza, but I'll still give the noodles a try.

*jrriddle - I just noticed your post. Having a 5th Element type setting would be great! That's such a fun movie! And the Plaza did still reek of the original, blah TL, so some neon signs would certainly help brighten up the place. Great idea!

 Spoken like a true cosmopolitan.

By the way if you like hamburgers, hotdogs, processed chicken, etc. keep in mind that the goverment agency that certifies and overlooks all food processing plants in this country allows approximately .5% of all foods to be categorized as "unknown". This would be comprised of anything so allow your imaginations to wander...........

I could not agree more. With the record levels of attendance forecasted for this next year, chances are they CAN NOT do E-ride nights, because the parks will need to remain open longer just for the volume of guests that are visiting.

In addition, with the Magic Your Way program, chances are more people will not park-hop, which could mean that they spend more time each day at each park, potentially causing a need for longer operational hours.

In the frozen isle of your local grocery store under "microwaveable pizza"

Have you tried the fare at Pizzafari? They are not greasy, but they are surprisingly nice for mass-produced pizza.

I agree.....much better pizza at Pizzafari......

Perhaps "Pizzafari-style" pizza will come to the Magic Kingdom.....Cosmic Ray's has 3 different menus, perhaps one will change to pizza, or perhaps Pinnochio's will begin to serve pizza, afterall, the story of Pinnochio comes from Italy.

I hope they pick up on your idea Speck, it is not without merit.

I've been to E Ride Nights when the parks closed at 11 pm and the place was packed. We got back to the WL at 2:30 am and the place was buzzing.

I think that e-ride nights were great and very much worth the 12 or so dollars. One night I was able to ride ride splash, space, and thunder mountain 10 times each. Why not just extend MK hours so that they close at 11 , have extra magic hour in the morning on certain days and have e-ride on certain days. and After 12:00 on e-ride night most of the people leave and you can walk right on the ride.

Oh no, not Ramen noodles!! I can see them charging twenty bucks for a cup of ramen. :hurl:

Okay, guys...remember that what we Americans call "ramen" noodles and the real Asian ramen noodles are two different things. I think that about all they have in common is the wavy shape.

We have a noodle joint here in town called Jobe Noodles, and when they first opened, you could create your own noodle bowl. One of your choices was ramen...and they were very emphatic about the fact that Asian ramen is different from that stuff in the 50 cents-for-a-case stuff that college students know as Ramen noodles.

So some sort of create-your-own noodle bowl place would be pretty cool to me...even if one of the choices is ramen.

One other thing to think about...Asian fusion is the sort of cooking that Morimoto, former Iron Chef Japanese, does, if I recall. So that could make the menu choices even more interesting... :slurp:

Who are you kidding. in these profit maximised days parks will shut as per the norm, who apart from Disney fans will remember the longer opening times, certainly not Europeans who are used to early closing theme parks.

Itll take a few months worth of guest surveying to formulate a plan then the trials then in 2006 if attendances stay high you may get a decision
