True. But in a world where Eo made a return, I have become less certain in my predictions. The way Disney is trading on nostalgia these days, I wouldn't bet against any future resurrection!

I see your point, and as much as I'd like to see the AC come back I can't see Disney doing it for nostalgic reasons. Captain EO was minor adjustments. The AC would be far more in depth. It's too bad another company couldn't reopen it instead. :(

Please let us get back on topic and stop bickering. If you want to be childish & fight, take it to PM. "Fighting" on the internet is useless...

If they actually decided to demolish the AC, would they use a wrecking ball, explosives or a wrecking crew to dismantle the place?

I doubt that they would use explosives. Too much of a risk to guests on property and to other structures that would remain. Plus they wouldn't want the excess noise either.

They would use something in this realm.. Explosives are out for such a small structure (not to mention safety, noise, etc) and a wrecking ball is overkill as well..

Just a front end loader with a demolition shovel on the end....

I watched something similar tear down a twelve story building here. Pretty awesome machine! The only problem would be the line of dumptrucks needed on an island.

Yeah, it's pretty much what they did with the clubs that have already been demo'd.. but those had the rear 'waterfront' access for parade of dump trucks..

You would assume that they might do the 'demo' during the day, pile it up, and load it into the trucks after closing in the AM hours.. then close the wall back up and repeat the next day.. Thats the best thing I can think of..

Biggest question is that if they remove AC and the soundstage buildings BEFORE they are ready to building new structure.. I'm guessing they'll have to do a temporary railing (afterall, it's elevated) and seed and mulch down below?

Again, thats assuming they start demo before they are ready to build out new..

I just don't think they will demo anything else until they decide just exactly what it is that they want to do with the island.

There has already been too much back pedaling when it come to PI.

As part of the demolition project do you think they might take pieces of the debris and cut them up into one inch squares and sell them as souvenirs to the loyal fan base?

It amazes me how much vitriol people can muster when they are losing an argument. According to the poll in the "General Discussion" section of the forum, people who would like to see the AC re-opened outnumber those who don't on these boards by four to one.

You are not endearing yourselves to anyone by trying to anger and upset people who you disagree with. I am just sorry that those of you that did not love the AC can't accept being on the less popular side of this disagreement with more grace and dignity.

My thinking was that if they cut up all the AC debris into one million little one inch squares and then sold them to the loyal fan base, the AC would be saved! It would be held in perpetuity by its fans. And once a year, WDW could offer a special room rate to all adventurers and they could attend this annual convention and piece the AC back together in one of the vacant parking lots on the west side. ConGaloosh!

I never was able to attend the Adventures Club. However, I check in to this thread time and again to see what is going on. I do not understand why posters are coming to this thread with the sole purpose of being a jerk (want to use another word but trying to keep it clean). If you are anti the club coming back and want to have a mature discussion, fine. However, if you are just coming in to complain about the thread still being here or just because you want you want to be rude to other people. Then you are being nothing but a rude, nasty person. It really is ridiculous

Another issue with demolition is that the infrastructure for soundstage is tied to the restrooms next door... They have t severed the water into the buildings for fire control reasons , but that is a quick line cut... Except in the place of those restrooms. . Apparently it will take a couple days to reroute e very thing and there could be down time for the restrooms.... Not good when the nearest ones are down near d street...

So, you should be banned as well. As should I. As should anyone who's talked about anything off topic. Demolition is actually ON topic, a lot more on topic than your post...

I don't understand your logic.

I'm pretty sure my logic is sound. The thread is entitled "Save the Adventurers Club", and demotion, though it is not going to happen, is about as off the topic as one can get. As for why the thread remains open, it is because the topic is still very relevant since the Adventurers Club still stands and the large following of the greatest attraction built by Walt Disney Inagineering still holds annual meeting and continue to hope that Team Disney Orlando will finally be awakened by the song of the Adventurers and reopen our beloved Club.
