[Clever Name]

Anyone else get the feeling that we have seen "fan" here before with a different name?

It is my firm belief that there are only about a dozen people that regularly visit and post on this forum. Each one has about ten different user names and the patterns become obvious after a few months of casual viewing. :wave:

The lack of ability to hold a conversation on this website is baffling. Although, the childish insults are hilarious because I considered most of the users here adults. If you guys think 71 is full of crap, ignore him. If you think he's a troll, ignore it. Instead you're hypocritically replying to everything he posts. Whether he's right or wrong, it'll be proven in the end. So why not shut up for the time, stop replying to everything he posts, and see for yourselves? :shrug:

All the "regulars" on this website have a "holy than thou" attitude and it gets really tiresome. That's partially the reason I don't spend very much time on this website anymore, and it's sad because Steve has built such a great website that not everyone can enjoy if they don't share the majority opinion.

Well, I am better than all of that, and I refuse to resort to name calling, and accusations.. The club is closed, it's gone, and thats that.. That a fair statement, thats a valid and factual statement, and anything more (whether it be positive or negative for the clubs return) is not truth in fact.. it's opinion.. The end.

Just because facts are being stated does not make such actions neutral. You come across with a taunting tone and seem intent not on having any sort of rational discussion, but laughing at people for what you see as a delusional mindset. People do not get run out because of some overarching groupthink. Any number of people have had reasonable discussions with different views being offered, including with the site staff. The issue is when people take an intentionally confrontational tone while disagreeing.

To come into a thread dedicated to a closed offering just to remind people that it is not coming back, and doing so with vocabulary choices that indicate a pleasant reaction to this situation, is one that reads as intentionally provocative. You may even say that this is concrete news item, but as the age of this thread shows, there have now been several times when a plan has been created and set into motion, only for the club building to survive another day.

If you take issue with this thread being in News and Rumors, that seems to be a personal issue.

A few facts:

- As I stated in another thread that was hijacked by the Pro-AC crowd.. I was misinformed about the timing of the announcement regarding the plans.. Thats why it didn't happen..

- I have never claimed to work for the Disney company, or any subsidary.. You can draw your own conclusions.

- The AC is closed, and gutted, and is prepared for demolition. The demo wasn't halted because plans changed for the future of the structure. It was a "Stop everything and lets restructure the plan." moment.. Thats it... It has nothing to do with some speculative blog, this thread, or the beating-tearing hearts of the AC fanbois...

Point 1 Being misinformed brings into doubt the quality of your information

Point 2 You HAVE claimed an interesting amount of backstage access and insider knowledge...the suspicion on our part is understandable...if you weren't so "misinformed" that is

Point 3 You heard this no doubt from the same source that told you about the announcement at the shareholders meeting....

Permit me to give some advice. Go to "Discussions" here and start a thread called "Let's tear down the AC". I can promise that none of us "fanbois" will post there and you and your two other AC hater friends can spout all the vitriol you want without the bother of us flaming you. When that thread becomes as attended and prolific as this one I will personally admit the "correctness" of your position and apologize for my doubt. I have confidence though that I will never need to do that.... :wave:

I just created a poll under "General Discussions" entitled "Should TDO Re-open the Adventurer's Club?" with the purpose of finding out what the fanbase here really feels about the subject. I encourage EVERYONE to go vote in it. Let's find out what the membership of these boards really feels about the subject.

WDW71fan: I encourage you to advertise this poll in threads where you feel you have more sympathy to try to roust up the vote for your side. This is your chance to prove that we are just a minor group of fanbois without real support. :wave:

I am all for reopening it just not necessarily at DTD. While I wouldn't be upset if it is part of DTD as a specialty restaurant, it is apparent Disney prefers third parties for DTD and to keep the Disney magic within the theme parks.

For that reason I don't think it will reopen at DTD and the structure itself will become acquainted with a wrecking ball sooner rather than later.

Anyone know when Mystic Manor opens?

No one minds factual information or opinion. I thnk what upsets most people about the guy is the glee he gets for rubbing that salt into the wounds that he knows remain open after all these years. If he's right he's right. If he wants people to believe him, he should post his factual basis. He never does. He enjoys inflicting the pain.

I am more than pleased to participate in a adult, friendly conversation about what is going to be in place of the club.. But if you post ANYTHING in this thread that isn't anti-thedecision-to-close-the-club then you are immediately berated and attacked..


Again, get over yourselves.. You aren't the end-all be-all on opinions.. if you don't like the fact that a discussion forum is filled with differing opinions then YOU should leave the forum.. I don't mind if you post your opinion, your news, your facts.. But don't attack me because I post my own viewpoint and information.

The first two are facts. The third one is a prediction that can't be proven and therefore not a fact. Stone cold or otherwise.

Quite true, but you run into the situation were you can not prove a negative. You can not prove that Bigfoot does not exist, you can not prove that aliens have not visited the earth, etc. The most you can do is look at the existing evidence and/or lack of evidence and assign a probability. Bigfoot more than likely does not exist because with all the people looking it, a really good video, picture or physical evidence has never been recorded. I feel it is safe to say that the AC on PI will not reopen because of how the building has been all but stripped, the props being distributed to other locations, etc.

Would I love to be wrong about both bigfoot and the AC? A thousand times yes, but there is no good evidence to suggest that I am.

Yet another point of this post that is opinion over "stone cold fact". Since demolition is not occurring, I would say that the walls have been stripped to prepare for a fresh paint job before reinstalling the artifacts.

True. But in a world where Eo made a return, I have become less certain in my predictions. The way Disney is trading on nostalgia these days, I wouldn't bet against any future resurrection!

The facts, as you put it, are that you come into a thread and smack people in the mouth then sit back with a holier-than-thou attitude wondering why people get mad. Gee, it's a mystery. We better get Scooby Doo in on this, quick.

If we want to dream about the possibility, however remote it might be, who the hell are you to come in and get snotty and smarta**ed about it? If you came in here and said "I really don't think it's going to be rebuilt folks. No matter how much you want it to be." then we wouldn't have smacked you back.
