Save the Adventurers Club

And yet I'm amazed that they were amazed. What did they expect?

Exactly...do they not remember the $35 "Fab 5 as the cast" pin selling out in like 2 weeks? Did they not see the line outside the Club the last night? (All night, even after it was clear the couple hundred people left outside would never get in). Did they not hear about the first Congaloosh selling out @ $200/head in less than a week?

At this point it can only be willful blindness--or upper-level management who couldn't find there way around WDW without a map.

Well when you had managers on bridge 2 the last night asking people "what are you crying for, it's not like someone died" then you begin to understand the lower level management position and you know it only gets worse as you go up. The GM of DTD never stepped foot in ANY of those clubs. "they're just generic clubs" he once said. "come back in 2 years, you'll see how much better things are"

Unfortunately I didn't get the satisfaction, he took the buyout package and left the company during the restructure.

How do we know they were surprised at all the negative comments about HW?
edit: nvm it came from Lee, that's good enough for me :)

Steven Miller who until very recently the Project Manager for Disney Trading has a good level of appreciation for WDW history and has worked to bring out a lot of the recent pin and vinyl stuff that featured AC, SMRT-1, vintage EPCOT, the orange bird and more. I wouldnt take it as anything more than having the right person in a position who knows nostalgia sells.

Normally, I would agree. BUT< Disney mde a conscience decision to quit selling all AC gear 10-12 years ago.

Which they have backtracked on many times. The Minnie as Maid pin, the Fab 5 as Adventurers pin, the Colonel vinylmation, even various cups over the years in the Club itself. Disney knows they have raving fanbois who'll buy up anything AdvClub--and pinsharks who will be looking to make a killing on e-bay. Doesn't make it any more likely they'll re-open the Club,

What's sad is that is the "corporate kitchen"/sponsor-approved version of the Kungaloosh that was never actually served in the Club. In practice, they always threw some Bacardi in there as well, I assume to cut the sweetness a little.

True story--after TDO brought the Kungaloosh machines back to PI this Fall, installed them in Laffers and PI Live...they had to hunt down the last remaining AdvClub bartender on the Island to remember the batch recipe.

Well if each recipe is for one cocktail, I'll take the second one! :dazzle:

Never had an original Kungaloosh at the club, but have had a few at the ConGaloosh events and make them at home all the time. Very, very good!

When we make the "new" Kungaloosh, we don't do it frozen, we prepare it on the rocks. Sooo much better on the rocks than frozen!

The old "Kungaloosh" is the new "Hoopla" (Hoopla!).
