What I can say is that the original plans for PI that were announced two years ago when it was shut down have been scraped and are no longer! No more bland restaurants and merchandise shops. TDO did see the error there, finally, and has a new vision that will be enjoyable for adults.

Do you know that as a fact or are you just speculating like everyone else on here?

No Adventurers Club = Fail.
No getting around that.

The restaurants in the original plan 2 years ago were hardly ""bland"--they just had no desire to open up locations in a nightlife-less Downtown Disney. It just shows a lack of self-awareness and business sense by DTD management, thinking high-end restaurants would open up on the stroller throughway between a surf shop and Little Miss Matched.

Sadly, if new concept is what I've heard--the oxymoronic "outdoor ultralounge"--I think it will fail just like the last plan. Not sure any ultralounge can survive in DTD at this point, let alone one in 90+ degree heat (yes, the heat index stays that high even after dark).

I know the photo titled "our vision" in the post above is meant as a joke but I could picture something like that working. Small specialty shops/eateries that are either one or two stories with balconies on the other side overlooking the lake for dining or just relaxing. Add a promenade around the lake below the balconies with more seating and some kind of entertainment on the water and I think you will attract crowds and not inhibit pedestrian traffic or discourage families from visiting in the evenings. Keep the AC (specialty restaurant) and CW (nightly stand-up/improv) and put a hoop-dee-doo type dinner show in the mannequins building and PI would be fixed. IMO.

This has been hinted at over on the save PI blog as well, hopefully something adult is put back in PI for those without kids for the evening. I am sure that will tee off JT who has a bold new vision of a multistory family orientated flee market hoop dee doo:hurl:. They made a huge mistake and needed to rectify the matter!:sohappy:

Oh, JT will never admit that he and Disney are wrong. It will NEVER happen. At the most he will back pedal and say this was part of the plan all along.
