San Diego Zoo OR San Diego Wild Adventure Park?

My family has decided that instead of going to Seaworld during our five day California trip, we're going to do one of the two San Diego animal parks. Any information on ANY of the parks will be greatly, greatly appreciated as we have no clue what we're in for but people have mentioned that both parts are very beautiful. Since we only have one day, a choice and explanation for which one is better would be great.

Best I can say is the San Diego Zoo is incredible! Seeing it all in a day would be exhausting. My family loved it when we went last January.

As I haven't been to [or heard of] the Wild Adventure Park, I'll leave that to others.

I'd say go to the zoo, mainly because it's easier to see animals and there is a larger amount of species there.

Never been to the Wild Animal Park, but the Zoo is amazing!! (Definitley a better choice than Sea World.) Make sure you go on the narrated bus tour.

FYI, only the San Diego Zoo is listed as an AAA "Gem" in the So.Cal TourBook.

We L-O-V-E-D the zoo when we went last September... it totally blew us away!

The San Diego Zoo is great and has a lot more animals to see, but I honestly enjoyed Wild Animal Park more. It has kind of like a "Kilamanjaro Safaris" type feel to it where the animals are free to walk around in their "native" surroundings. Much better experience IMO because it's not at all like a traditional zoo.

I have been to both, and it all kind of depends how you wish to see the animals. The wild animal park has a narrated train experience for animals on the savannah. You also get to feed th Giraffes there, and that was amazing! I also saw them feed a leopard, and they have demonstrations throughout the day of different animals.
The zoo though was really amazing! More animal varieties, and you can see them closer. The Polar Bear exhibit is one of my favs! The otters are too. Lots of animals, and you dont have to walk so much to see more. It is hard to do in 1 day. but the exhibits are worth it. They just had a baby Panda not long ago I believe too!

It all seems as if your unanimous in your praise for San Diego Zoo, so I guess that's where we'll go! I'm excited for that day (it will be Saturday January 28th) because it will definetly be our more relaxing day...the nights' going to to spent in Disneyland!
