We should know shortly after 6 if the race will be cancelled. Apparently hail is part of this storm.

Still waiting for a decision. Not impressed with the lack of direction given to the crowd.
Also if race starts at 5 corral A should have started crossing starting line at 5. I thought this was runDisney not standaroundforhoursDisney.

What was weird to me was when I registered it stated the races started at 4:30 but upon arrival it was changed to 5:30?
And yea they did not do a good job explaining what guests needed to do.

Good luck 5k-ers! I'm having total FOMO not being there this weekend. Please give us a rundown of what happened this morning? Rain? lighting? wind? What was the modified course? Inquiring minds want to know!!!

After a 90 minute delay due to weather, which included sitting on the bus for over an hour, I ran the 2.78 rainy Star Wars 5K. Glad I always bring 2 pairs of running shoes - mine are wet from the rain and puddles.

Was a tad concerned about the thunder and lightning as I ran past the buses.

BIG shout out to the volunteers who braved the storm to put this race on.

We didn't do the switch back. Entered WS over by Germany and just ran around past USA, Italy, etc., to Future World, past Mousegears, behind the bathrooms to the finish line. There was a 3 mile marker, but my Fitbit indicated we were about half a mile shorter than that. Just glad to run. Wonder what happened to those who evacuated to Eocot? Did they have to go back to the finish line or could they join the race from that point?

Morning races have started at 5:30 AM since I've been participating.

It was a wet one. We had fun as we made the best of a bad situation. Heading to expo now to see if there is a shirt swap. My wife and one of my daughters need bigger sizes.

Interesting I still ran the back way past test track with the entrance to world Showcase by Mexico which happen to be one of the worst bottlenecks I ever experienced. It was like exiting a peak MK night after the fire works ended.

Yea which is why the time change on registration was so odd for me. Must have been a typo?

Was it Mexico? By switchback, I mean the run through Innovations (?) and then double back before running past Mousegear. I was trying to stay dry and not get run over. Never saw the email that the course was shortened. They just told us to get off the bus and not much more.

Race shirt? There is, I've had to do that before.

Yea it was still entering WS through Mexico. You are right there was no switchback. I wish I measured the distance as well but the app I was using went wonky on me.
I drove there so while sitting in my car an employee announced to return to the corrals. Were you able to run? It was such a mass of people released all at once I ended up just walking the whole thing.

I was in one of the buses. We just headed back to the corrals and the start line. With 25,000 other runners.

Glad those who sheltered in their cars were able to run.
