Still waiting for a decision. Not impressed with the lack of direction given to the crowd.
Also if race starts at 5 corral A should have started crossing starting line at 5. I thought this was runDisney not standaroundforhoursDisney.

I knew something was amiss. That long video was the first clue. That and no moment of silence, no National Anthem, etc. Wheelchair racers usually start 5 minutes before the official start time.

I saw lightning in the distance about 10 minutes before John made the announcement.

Goodness, that is crazy about the 5K! I had no idea such a strong line of storms came through in the early morning. I started reading the comments on FB but gave up, lol! I don’t think some people realize how small the rD team actually is, and most of the people working the events are CMs pulled from other areas and volunteers. I’m sure it was frustrating, as I remember that stormy W&D, but there’s no need to yell at those who have no control over the situation.

But it sounds like the vast majority had a great time despite the unfortunate weather, and major congrats to everyone who ran! Surely one for the memory books!

And I hope this morning’s 10K went more smoothly and a lot drier!

It did and it was.

Agree....runners need to be THANKING those volunteers and CMs, not yelling at them. 😡 Contrary to what people think, Disney does not control the weather in Central Florida. Got a beef? Seek out a runDisney official - they are pretty easy to spot. Or drop them a line.

First we had the Splash and Dash. Then we had the Half a Half. Then the Frozen 5K. Then the Boardwalk Half. Today we had the 4K Run & Swim.

Gotta love the Florida weather.

Congrats to all who ran.

This morning at the 10K. “Anyone’s shoes still wet?”

And the two girls wearing the Star Trek dresses should be banned. 🤨

Mine still are. I bought 3 pairs of running shoes and I'm glad I did. The ones I wore yesterday have paper towels stuffed in them.

I missed the Star Trek girls. Anna and Elsa made an appearance...I wanted to tell those runners they were 6 weeks late for their 10K. 😂

The 10K was awesome. Definitely made up for yesterday. My physical therapist will not be happy. My best mile was 11:16. She wanted me to run slower. Knee feels great. Hopefully tomorrow goes as smoothly.

So you're doing the Half tomorrow?

I am going to try my best. My slowest mile this morning was 14:03 and average was 12:44 so I feel like I may be able to do it without getting swept but double the mileage is more than double the work so it will be a gamble. I don’t want to injure myself again but I want to try.

Which corral are you in? As long as you're not in H, you will be okay.

Unfortunately I am in H. Started in F this morning but caught up to C and B runners. I am OK with getting swept if that is what happens. I still have until Wednesday in the parks so I want my knee functional for the rest of the trip.

Just had the 'special' race pasta at the counter service at AKL. Nothing to write home about but just what I needed. Good meatballs.
