Gotcha, I wonder though can you do that for the virtual half though?
I think right now my best bet to get into the races is to register for the Kessel as normal as well as the 5K, to make sure I can secure a spot. After, then I can see what can be done with cancelling my virtual half. Maybe what they said to me was correct, and what the told the other person was incorrect. I really don’t know...but I rather not chance it to not get anything at all, as this is the final chance to get any Star Wars runDisney races.
I also don’t know if this will be the last time to do virtual race weekends that otherwise wouldn’t of been possible to do at least for me.
EDIT: I’d imagine that these races may go faster then pervious virtual race weekends since this is likely to be the last Star Wars race.
I hope so. You'll either register for just the 2 now virtual halfs or the Rival Run Challenge virtual 10K & Half and the. Virtual Half.
I just want what will obviously be the last Kessel Run medal. Wish it was still the Falcon rather than just the windscreen.

Yeah, I really want a Kessel Run medal myself that is why I am going though all the trouble of trying to get rid of my already existing virtual half. Otherwise, I would of just went for the rival run, but I want all the medals and possibly shirts. I am already doing the miles for my training so might as well get some medals out of it.I hope so. So are they letting you change registration from virtual to this other option? I had signed up for the intentionally virtual run but interested in the now-unintentionally virtual one

I'm confused. The email we received says that the Kessel Run Challenge: Challenge Option includes 5 medals, and the Lightspeed option includes 3 shirts. The 5k is not part of that challenge, but the blog post only shows five non-kids run medals, so is there one missing? The virtual half marathon medal I assume?
Same with the shirts. The 5k, and 10k shirts are easy enough to make out. I assume the red Yoda shirt is for the half marathon, and the dark blue X-Wing shirt is the Rival Run challenge shirt. I guess that means there isn't a separate Kessel Run challenge shirt?

I may be missing something, but when we signed up for the races, I purchased a few of the commemorative item bundles, and I'm pretty sure I paid for them at that time. I don't see anything in the notices from RunDisney about those items. Will they be refunded, or will they be shipped to the participants?

My assumption is they will be refunded. Any add-on items for wine/dine, marathon & princess were all refunded.

See, I could wait go into my account and see if their is an option to “upgrade” my virtual half to the kessel.
...I feel by doing that I run the risk of not securing a spot.
OR
I could just register for the kessel as normal, as well as the 5K and then hope what runDisney told me is true. (This is what I am leaning toward)
I also misplaced my confirmation for the virtual half, so they may have to find it via my registration details.

Correct, the virtual half medal is MISSING in the image.
There is no shirt for the Kessel or the Virtual Half.
So...3 shirts for lightspeed
10K- Leia
Half- Yoda
Challenge- X-Wing
The 5K is never included in the challenges. So that is a separate registration.
They will be refunded, as the other cancelled races were.

I am actually surprised at how much this bothers me. Heather Jorgensen on YouTube was even starting a training series for the Half.
I am signed up for the Half and I had week long reservations at the CBR. I will be cancelling it all. I have made my feelings on virtual
races known in the past. Paying an entry feel to give me a medal to run around my neighborhood is of no interest to me, at all.

Took the refund for my 5K and Kessel/Rival Run Challenge.
Then registered for the same races. While I get what you're saying, @Edward Jackson, it will be the last SW races
and I want those medals.

I registered for lightspeed kessel and more Galaxy 5K.
Yes. There's no separate registration for just the original Virtual Kessel Half.
I chose the Rival Run (10K + Half)/Kessel Challenge.

Cool, I just contacted runDisney to see if they will follow though what they said to me. Will keep everyone posted! Just wanted to make sure it didn’t overwrite the original Virtual.
