It’s absolutely pouring at my house right now, with semi-frequent lightning. I’m sure the kids dashes and mile run would have been canceled had the weekend still gone on as planned. Makes me feel a teensy bit better about everything.
We dressed my daughter up in her Star Wars outfit (complete with her adorable baby Yoda/Child shoes) and did a 100m walk down the street before the storms rolled in.

Got out and completed my half this morning. As I hit each mile, I tried to visualize where I would have roughly been on the course. The humidity was tough, and I know it would have really affected those who are not used to training in it. It started to get to me around mile 11. I can’t say I missed having to dodge and weave the crowd, but that race day energy (especially the finish line) really gives me an extra boost. And now I wish I had some plastic cheese! 
To everyone completing your virtual races, I hope you have a great run! Through all of this, I’m so grateful to have my health which allows me to still get out there. And hopefully we’ll all be back at it together in November!

Yes Carissa is pregnant with a baby boy. She had made the announcement with her husband, Westin, and daughter a few months ago, maybe.
I thought that was a great video. It had banter, sarcasm, jokes, information, humour, and eye rolling annoyances. It even had the Star Spangled banner, a salute to military and first responders, fireworks, special guests, lol, cant ya tell I really liked it!!
I did not sign up for Star Wars, I watched this video early this morning, and I spur of the moment did a 13 mile jog before 8am. I felt I should, y’all inspired me!

That video made me smile!! It shows brilliantly the community we are all a part of and how we can be there for each other.
Remember Carissa and the announcers are not Disney CMs, they are outsourced. So they were not forced to do a remote start! I talked with Carissa today and she said it was an idea Pelky had and they came up with a script, filmed their segments, and Carissa’s hubby was the one who put it all together electronically.
They all just did it because they wanted to; they knew it meant a lot to us, and we know it meant something to them!
It was a really nice virtual treat!

I love that you did a spur of the moment half - that’s awesome!
I thought John was a CM. He was on a DVC cruise a year ago.

We've been using the Rival Run thread @DznyGrlSD created. My recommendation is we continue to use that thread for all WDW SW races, whether on property or Virtual.
Also encourage people with questions about existing races to use the existing threads, rather than creating a new one.
Just MHO.
Hi @DznyGrlSD we were thinking it’s probably a good idea to streamline the threads on this forum. We were thinking we could use this as the main Star Wars race thread for all Star Wars related RunDisney events. Including the virtual half. This would reduce new threads being created and make a centralized one stop shop.
Maybe we can even get a mod to pin this thread?

I’d suggest probably just dropping the “Choose Your Side” part (since Star Wars Rival Run Weekend is the what it pops up as in runDisney now) or would be happy if they pinned it as-is, if we wanted to hedge our bets that the left-coast event might come back someday and wanted to keep all Star Wars together

runDisney Star Wars Events? Something to that effect. Then we just need to get this pinned along with the virtual thread, Paris, and possibly the runDisney miles tracker.
Also get those other threads unpinned.
