runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend

I'm working 145a-8a both 5k and 10k days. My Sunday schedule comes out this Sunday. I'm not working the expo on Thursday (unless I pick up a shift over there)

I never know where I'm at until I get there but I know I'll be somewhere between arrivals (front of EPOCT) and start line. I'm not on here race weekends but if you have the tweets, I usually post on there wher I'm at (same name)

I’m not there but thanks for working! runDisney is really the only facet of the company keeping me wanting to return!

Oddly enough one of my photos is watermarked even though I have photo pass. It was after the race where you take medal photos with the wooden sign that says I did it. Every other photo is fine. I guess after race weekend I'll see if it's fixed and then contact them directly, but I'm curious if anybody else had a similar problem

Was there ever anything official that said they aren't doing "perfect" status with these? I've only seen posts from people who got vague responses stating something like "Decisions have not been made as to future offerings and events" or "we are not currently honoring perfect status" (of course they aren't currently, it's been less than five years) and seem to jump to the conclusion that they aren't going to do Perfect. I read those statements as more of a "we don't want people a bunch of upset people complaining about relying on potential Perfect status if we decide to retheme after 3-4 years and don't even make it to year 5."

There may be something more tangible stating that it will not happen, if so, I'd be very interested in seeing it because it could change my travel plans for the next few years :)

The only thing I have heard is that there was a runDisney support email said something to the effect of perfect status is not eligible for this event.

Not sure if I can count that as “official”.

I like that Springtime Surprise has changing overall themes!

I wish Springtime Surprise had changing distances, challenges, race start times, etc. It’s been consistent so far, eliminating any surprise (outside of Everest 5K 10p start).

Granted it is very far away but I wanted to share this on this form. On the runDisney Reddit there has been some suggestion on the possible theme of next year’s Springtime Surprise. Those who participated in this year’s virtual springtime Surprise received the usual letter from Faron Kelly. This could mean nothing but I wanted to point the group’s attention toward the way it’s worded.

”Your achievement is nothing short of incredible, and we hope it’s just the start of your very own runDisney story. In the meantime, let these finisher’s medals-one for each distance you completed- stand as a symbol of your brave effort.

Speaking of surprises, just wait till you see what’s up for next year’s runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend. Not to toy with you…but you won’t want to miss this sequel!”

Again, this could mean nothing but could they do Pixar again next year possibly with different films represented?
