Still no Everest bibs. GRRRR. Has anyone seen them open up at any point (and maybe I missed them?)

Don, have you thought about getting a bib through one of the charities? Kellsie's Hope is available for Springtime Surprise.

I checked all the charities. None have availability for Everest only. Thank you for the suggestion though.

The challenge was open in the 11a hour and also again in the 1p hour. Even with all the refreshing I did, I did not see any Everest availability.
Why did you suggest that they may be raising capacity for the 5K? Heard anything? That gives me hope

Totally speculation on my part, I haven’t heard anything, but it seems like registration for the next event seems to open intermittently after a race weekend. I remember a bunch of spots for Princess kept popping up after Marathon Weekend. And as restrictions lift, it seems like they’re continually moving towards increasing capacity. It sounds like charities quickly sold out of their 5K/Challenge bibs, so I don’t think it’s a case of returning bibs.The challenge was open in the 11a hour and also again in the 1p hour. I’m assuming since the 5K is unique, it comes down to requiring many more CMs and volunteers to assist with the scavenger hunt aspect. They think they’ll be making it easier by using a phone app, but we all know how that goes.

I still can’t believe the 5k only reopened once! I was lucky and got my gf in during the like 20 minutes it was open several weeks ago, but given how frequently the previous race weekends reopened this year, I was certain those that missed out would have more opportunities. Even with people settling down about Covid, you’d think there would still be enough cancellations during the last two months to release a few more spots.

Perhaps the overnight aspect makes it hard to change staffing levels. The odd thing about ToT is that I expect it'd be sold out now if it were the old school nighttime race.
I’m hoping for the guide to go live tomorrow. Don’t want to jinx it, but it does match up with previous race weekends.

In one of the biggest magical surprises I have received, I contacted a runDisney friend to inquire about an Everest bib. I fully expected to be told that there was nothing she could do, as she does not handle registrations. However, today my inbox had an invitation to join Everest 5K as a comped event participant!!!
I'M IN!! I made it. I am excited to have a runDisney weekend overlap with our Senior Trip (3 of my track athletes will also be participating). And I am overwhelmed by the kindness of one. I love the runDisney community!!
