I dabbled with signing up for the 10 miler - I love Goofy - but I'll never run it on my own.
I won't run a virtual 10 miler. I'll be WORKING the in-person eventBut, but, many of us will be running it.

hopefully!2023 too?
Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to think through this for race planning as I'm looking to do Dopey again that year but this is when my son's birthday is. I can weigh the race weekend versus easter week and see which one looks worse.2023 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend

He will need to go to the Expo, there he will be able to pick up his bib.I've haven't participated in any of the on-site runs yet and have a question from my nephew. My nephew is going to run in the 10K in April and he is trying to figure out timing of picking up his bib. He will be flying in on Friday and is trying to figure out where he needs to get the bib so he will know if he has time to go to the hotel first or should he Uber to the Expo. We don't know where he needs to go and he is waiting to book his flight.
The expo is at ESPN Wide World of Sports. Unless his flight gets in in the morning, I’d probably recommend to go straight to the expo to avoid any additional anxiety over making it there in time. If he doesn’t plan to shop for merchandise or look at the vendor booths, he shouldn’t need more than 30 minutes (1 hour to be safe, in case something catches his eye or he wants to grab a snack/drink).I've haven't participated in any of the on-site runs yet and have a question from my nephew. I’m hoping they do something similar to the original versions of the medals for the three races (Everest Compass medal, Race for the Taste either a plate with silverware or a Spaceship Earth like the early Wine and Dine medals, and a Tower of a Terror medal with movable elevator). Here’s a few pics of some of the former versions if you haven’t seen them before:Hoping we see the Springtime Surprise medals at the expo for Marathon Weekend tomorrow.
They should be revealing them relatively soon. Very excited to see what they look like. Especially with them being (mostly) attraction based.
I have seen all of these except for the Race for the Taste. I too, am really hoping for a compass. Their are a variety of cool designs that can be done. Compass really does stand out in terms of uniqueness.I’m hoping they do something similar to the original versions of the medals for the three races (Everest Compass medal, Race for the Taste either a plate with silverware or a Spaceship Earth like the early Wine and Dine medals, and a Tower of a Terror medal with movable elevator). I still can’t believe how fast that challenge went. Also, that myself and other 2 group members were able to secure it. While I was in front of Haunted Mansion/Pooh.10k is now sold out, making the 10-miler the only race still/currently available for registrationView attachment 612755
This has now happened to Springtime Surprise as well.Uh…every Princess race both virtual and in person has turned to “registration opening soon”.
Everything just reverted back
Any speculation on what the course maps can look like for this weekend?
I assume the 5K will be a new (ish) course around Animal Kingdom and parking lot. Which should be super cool maybe though Pandora? Wonder if we will do a loop around Everest?
How does the scavenger hunt work during the race? Do you run the 5K, have the time already done and THEN do the hunt? Or is the hunt during the 5K. I think it’s the latter but not sure. Seems hectic but a fun hectic. Times will definitely be affected by the hunt. Not that it really matters since I don’t think you can be swept during a 5K.
The 10K will probably be the typical Wine & Dine 10K course. Which from what I have seen sounds cool. Snaking though EPCOT and a little of HWS. Though it could use more HWS. Then taking the loop around the EPCOT resorts (which I really like). The Remy theme seems to compliment this course.
The 10-miler is where I don’t really know what they could do. My first instinct would be to take the Wine & Dine Half and trim it down. That doesn’t really work with the Tower of Terror theme though if they are going for that.
I’m really hoping the course still has the core three parks chained together like the Half. Those being EPCOT, AK, and HWS. It would really tie the weekend together to have the final race run though each park that each race was themed after (especially for challengers).
I wonder though this being a Tower of Terror themed race. Will they give us more time in HWS? Do we end in front of the Tower like year’s past? It doesn’t really matter as long as all three parks are represented but I wonder if they give us more HWS time in the Tower of Terror 10-miler. They also have to trim down the course from 13.1 to 10. Which obviously gives them less mileage to work with in terms of course.
We also really need those medals revealed.
What does everyone else think about this?
