Rumored ride at Hollywood Studios

I don't care for Star Wars at all, but the ride is awesome and I think a very good additional ride that's currently a rumor to be added would be that Star Wars speeder bike coaster!

Saw one entire train of RnR cars in the central shops last month. Is it normal for one entire set to be offline for maintenance at a time or is it a bigger overhaul than normal?

According to the Wiki they have 5 trans, but only 4 can be on the track at once, so having one out wouldn't really be abnormal.

Being an Aerosmith fan, I'm okay with the current theme. However, like most here, I've wondered many times how they would re-theme it when the day comes.
My biggest fear is that it will get a re-theme to some new flash in the pan (a la Bieber, Jonas Bros. or Miley), and then remain so for 10 years after they have faded and or gone to jail. At least for now, Aersomith is still alive and still making music, so the attraction is still fairly representative, even though they've aged just a bit since they were filmed for it.

I would guess, as others have, that Disney is evaluating the new restraint system for use on RnRC. Although I don't know that I've experienced the exact system being tested, I have been on several coasters with the softer vest restraint systems, and it's a big improvement, so I hope this comes.

Assuming the existing trains are original, that would make them more than 15 years old. They might very well be looking to replace them.
However, I can't see a re-theme any time soon. At least not until after all the rest of the work at DHS is complete.

It could be included in whatever makeover budget the park gets, even if the ride doesn't change. Just throwing that out there. Probably not and it's just a guess.

I would doubt the ride would get a retheme with so many other big things going on in the studios, the budget wouldn't be there.

All modern roller-coasters have manufacture lead service lifespans associated with them. The manufacture provides guidelines for maintenance, service, and replacement. It's up to the park to follow those recommendations or else it would be out of compliance with the guidelines and if legal issues ever arise, it gets a bit dicey in the courts.

With as many miles as the trains at Disney Parks get do to their outstanding efforts at maximizing capacity and uptime as well as the hours the parks are open, it wouldn't surprise me at all that Vekoma has recommended a chassis replacement and is offering them the new generation model as the new recommendation versus significant refurb on the existing chassis.

The irony is that the "new" when talking about this type of Vekoma attraction is that even with the new restraints, it really is like putting spinner wheels, LEDs, and GPS on a 1970's Pinto. By its very nature, the design is based around Arrow Dynamic's original steel coaster platform which never really evolved since Ron Toomer first got out his coat hanger decades ago. The closest the Arrow/Vekoma sit down looping platform ever got to making a significant generational leap was the final Arrow coaster - Tennessee Tornado. That coaster finally broke away from many of the calculations that they were using for decades and actually created custom inversions, elements and dynamics. Of course, even on the last coaster they built - it was still using the same basic chassis (although slightly bigger) as the original Corkscrew.

with this new generation of restraint system it is possible they might be able to lower the height limit by an inch or two. This would help with the "not enough rides for kids" argument. The newer restraints are also more comfortable and not as restrictive on your arms. That said the new restraints are not kind to anyone with a large chest so there is that to take into account.
