Rumored Nemo ride previews

I'm having my wedding reception at the Living Seas in July. My wedding coordinator (who I would think would be tied in with a ride construction that would have implications on his job) gave me the complete breakdown of the planned rollout of the ride. They expect the ride to be finished by July and he said if were lucky we may be able to preview it by our wedding. He is telling afternoon receptions at the living seas about the rehab up until August because of the noise. All I care about is the walls being down by then. But they are shooting for August CM,DVC,AP previews with the soft opening in Sept/Oct. From this I am guessing the official grand opening would be something closer to the new year and the kickoff of the EPCOT 25th? He definately said its a Nemo ride like thats any secret at this point. FYI planning a disney wedding is the easiest thing in the world (literally), so far;) Not much of an update and im sure some of this has been reported, just passing along.

Just had an interesting thought..you know how they have the talking with Crush thing in the Living Sea? I'm thinking that maybe when you ride the sea cabs they'll have in the windows of the ride that you pass through that look into the tank, will have some of them that are movie screens and they'll be some of the animated characters from the movie..not really intereacting with the passengers in the sea cabs but actually just talking one-way to us welcoming us to the sea base and letting us know about all the cool stuff we can see.

I'd be impressed if that's what they decide to do.

If you were actually having your ceremony at Seas, maybe Crush could be your wedding officiator. That would be sweet. His interaction with guests at the reception would be great too. Congratulations. :)

I would say not a chance. AA and water do not fix. I am almost certain they will use the same projection technology being used at Disneylands sub lagoon.

He's right. No cruise has ever operated fifty years with animatronics in the water! That's crazy talk!

Let's clear something up "peter"... you're almost certain they will use a certain type of technology - BASED ON WHAT? No. You GUESS they will use a certain type of technology. You have no information what so ever to be certain upon.

This is how really ugly rumors get started.

Actually from what I understand Jungle cruise animals that are in the water aren't AA's as we think of them. They use air pressure and hydrolics to get the movements no electronic parts to them. I believe that's why they weren't recognized as the first AA's in the parks. That would be the Tiki birds

Weren't there pictures of testing being done in the DL sub lagoon that basically led people to believe they were testing some type of clear box/surface that would be located underwater that would be transparent to the riders, but provided a surface allowing for some type of projection or hologram to be used? It was about a year ago, but there were pics out there. I saw them as well.

It seems like you're jumping on him fairly quickly, but I recall seeing pictures (about a year ago) that alluded to this type of system being used, or at the very least, tested.

While he may or may not be COMPLETELY accurate in the descriptions he's using, the idea behind his post is based on something more than a thought pulled out of thin air, and therefore I would suggest a little leeway.

How about you listen. I never said that no AA has ever worked under water. I was simply stating that AA and water are not something that mix well together. Proof of this is in the problems they had with 20,000 leagues, and Disney building a 20,000 leagues without water in Tokyo. Not to mention the huge issues Universal has with Jaws and some of the Jurassic Park AA's.

As for my speculation about them using the projections. I am almost certain they will be using them as they have invested a good amount of money in developing them for Disneyland Sub lagoon and their new Nemo attraction. It doesn't take a rocket scientist or even a fool on the Internet to figure out that Disney would likely use the same technology on both attractions being as they are both being developed and built at the same time with the same theme. It is not that hard to understand why Disney might clone the technology.

nope -- sure gets wet though -- did you know that there used to not be ghosts -- then disney invented them for their attractions...

*WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?*

The jumping Br'er Rabbit that you were no doubt referring to has had long term issues - none of which are related to water. If you'd been ON Splash Mountain, you'd also know that the figure in question is no where near any positioin that water splashes from the flume.

Beyond the fact that it was working the last time I rode it, but we won't even mention that.
