My friend is there now saying they've been told to stay inside. Apparently an active shooter near Starbucks.

Possibly. They were kind of being cautious with assumptions about it. Not sure how they've been in the past with situations like this.

Edit: Never mind, after reading all of their tweets, they were inflaming it, saying things like "shots fired".

Thank you for posting this. That is good news.

But I've got to ask this question: will this situation change how WDW handles Springs security?

The sheriff report is probably the most accurate, but guests are reporting a ton of different things on Twitter. Hard to know what to really believe.

With all the recent world attacks, it's scary when events like these occur. I just hope everyone involved is ok. I can only imagine the scene. Very heart-wrenching

Exactly. One of my bothans checked in 30 seconds before you posted this, asking me to post the same thing.

To reitterate, Per OCSO... there has NOT been a Shooting at Disney Springs.

There appears to have been a fight at the Bongos/HOB general area, but that remains vague.

Not even going lie, my heart stopped for a moment when I saw the Twitter reports. Thank goodness the situation didn't transpire into something more serious. Twitter (and all of social media) can be a blessing and a curse at the same time.

Dont believe reports on twitter, especially from that one account.

There's a reason the most trusted Disney news comes from here....
