@FulcrumSolo when I was reading your tweets on the future of Imagination, I came across another tweet of yours referencing a replacement for RNR, to which you said this:

So from what I can gather here, the property proposed to replace RNR is something entirely different than what’s being suggested in this thread? I’d like to know your thoughts on this specific thread, though the OP of this thread most definitely seems like a complete troll. Just thought I’d bring it up since we’re on the topic of a re-theme.
I heard rumblings about Cars replacing the area when Race School was built.

There are “so many” flash up pop talent that mostly are created with studio toys to make you sound like you can sing, or play.

not to take away from anyone’s talent…but there are wayyyyyy better rock band who already proved they had staying power, and did it all before auto tune was invented

want make it awesome and keep music?

why not a time travel coaster to go back to see The Beatles at a show?

Some people might have heard of them. Had one or two popular songs..🧐

For a song to be a song shouldn't it be longer than 2:30? Asking for a friend.

Aerosmith has a certain intensity that works when you're launched into the dark, although I'm a little disappointed when I get "dude looks like a lady". "Walk this Way" is perfect.

Any replacement risks being weak sauce if they don't choose something with that intensity, whether it be IP or pop/rock based, whether it's recent or old. Some of the suggestions above are good music, but would fall flat in the context of the ride. Foo Fighters / Red Hot Chili Peppers could work well depending on song selection, for example.

People should remember that whatever they re-theme this ride to when the time comes, that it should be edgy in some way.
This ride is meant to be a radical (by Disney standards) ride.
What used to be one of the fastest launches out there, right into a loop, plus a barrel roll.
This ride isn't meant to be pop music (if music is chosen) or princesses, or something light.

I can think of some recent Marvel movies that are full of suitable music.

I pulled up a video on youtube, and she relies heavily on autotune. I'm not a fan of autotune.

For those who don't know, autotune is a digital processor that forces tones onto notes in key. This really helps when the singer cannot reliably hit notes in a key, allowing the recording session to be done faster and save money on both studio time and the talent. It gives the vocals a characteristic robot-like sound.

By whatever miracle, the producers of GOG did a decent job of selecting music. I'm grateful that we will *probably* escape from having to listen to hastily produced pop on the new GOG ride.
Sorry to bump this thread. Just wanted to point out all artists use autotune. Used properly, you'd NEVER know it was happening. But, there hasn't been an artist on the top 40 in the last 20 years that isn't using it. Now, other artists use autotune as an effect. In that case, it can be really annoying. You can go back to the 90's and hear Cher using it as an effect in, If I Could Turn Back Time. In there, it was pretty impressive, IMO.

Hello everyone!

My friend is an insider who works for Walt Disney World in Florida. My friend has reported to me that imagineers have been working to retheme the Rock n Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith at Disney's Hollywood Studios for a while, as Aerosmith is no longer as popular a band with as much mass appeal as it was at the time of the rides' debut in 1999. There have been a few ideas proposed, such as retheming the ride to one of various Pixar properties such as the door vaulter scene in Monsters, Inc. or the Incredibles. Many people who work for disney are proponents of the less expensive but still rather enduring concept of keeping the ride's current unique theme as a roller coaster themed to music, but switching out the featured musical act. Such plans have been in a state of general possibility for over a decade by now, during which time several artists (such as Paramore, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, and - for a brief period in 2010 - the cast of glee) have been proposed and contacted for the idea, although plans have never yet gone as far into the realm beyond the drawing board as they currently are.

Unless you have been living under a rock during the year 2021, you must be aware of ascendant pop icon Olivia Rodrigo. In a span of months, she has racked 2 Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles (the transcendent power ballad drivers license and pop-rock explosion good 4 u), which happens to be one more than Aerosmith have accrued in their decades-long career. Her debut studio album Sour, which was released on May 21, has held the highest US sales of any album in a week of this year with almost 300,000 units. Not only is her music extremely commercially successful, it is also very good (this is obviously subjective, but I like her music and so do most people I have talked to as well as critics). In genre, her music can be best described as at the center of a three way venn diagram between levitating bedroom balladry, unkempt psychadelic grunge, and uptempo pop-rock, although perhaps more instrumental to her musics success than the production is the lyrics and themes. She sings with honesty, specificity, and humor, conveying the abstract pangs of angst and heartbreak as a vivid image of the rebellion and sadness of youth.

In fact, Rodrigo has shined so brightly in the past few months it has been easy to forget the fact that she is a Disney Channel star like Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, and Selena Gomez before her, having starred in Bizaardvark and currently starring in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. In fact, my insider friend has reported that Disney is trying to negotiate a contract with Rodrigo to allow the licensing of her solo music (which has been released by the label Geffen Records, the same label that has worked with Aerosmith) in the ride currently known as Rock n Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith, as well as to film an all-new pre-show starring Olivia herself. The plan is for the track layout to stay roughly the same, although plans have been thrown around for the space between the ride’s loading area and launch to be extended, accommodating for a new, slow-moving dark ride scene built around Rodrigo’s deceptively gentle but extremely powerful signature track drivers license. The more intense parts of the ride will be soundtracked by higher-octane tracks by Rodrigo such as brutal, deja vu, and good 4 u.

So, what do you think of these rumors? Would you like to see Aerosmith replaced with Olivia Rodrigo? Would you be sad to see Aerosmith go?
I would rather see a band more akin to Aerosmith. I have no clue who Olivia Rodrigo is and had not heard of him/her until I read this post. And I have not been living under a rock. I think that is a pretty bold statement considering music is a very personal choice.

right into a loop, plus a barrel roll.
I hate to be that nerd... but it's a Sea Serpent maneuver followed by a standard Corkscrew later on in the second section of the ride.

*pushes glasses up on nose, dodges incoming thrown shoe...

By the way if you want learn all the different names and types of coaster inversions CoasterForce has a breakdown on pretty much all of them!

OK, So someone who's had a hit or two over the past year is going to replace an artist who has been recording albums for 40 years, with numerous hits and charting albums spanning 4 decades. I'm not sure how much more idiotic this can get, but we're getting close.

I fully recognize that Aerosmith, as an IP for this attraction, is old, tired and needs to be replaced. But even replacing Aerosmith with someone with actual modern relevancy (like Billie Eilish or Ed Sheeran) instead of imagined relevancy of this, whats her name...Olivia Rodrigo?.....would be a FATAL mistake. Music longevity has dwindled over the past 20-30 years. Modern musical artists simply do not last. They are disposable. Trust me, NO ONE will know who Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish or this Olivia Rodrigo is in 10 years. Heck, I give them 3-5 years before total irrelevancy. So unless they are planning to restructure the attraction to allow for easy lay-overs of new artists, they will need to retheme an attraction in 2 years. Moronic.

Either get away from the Rock N Roll theme of the attraction all together and retheme it like someone has suggested (monsters inc, door coaster)....or find a way to make it more generic rock and roll attraction, without an artist sponsor.

But to grab some flash in pan current pop artist and think they will be relevant in another 2 years is narcotic-induced fantasy.

Yes
If they wanted to ditch Aerosmith and replace them with IP, they've already got the perfect fit (although the ride is in the wrong part of the park for it, not that it always seems to matter): Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. It keeps the rock and roll theme AND integrates IP.
Yeah I love to see Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem Band replaces Aerosmith, that would be awesome.
