Royal Rooms Question

Hello everyone! I'm a long time follower of the site, but this is my first post.

We've just booked our next trip for early December. I'm so excited! We're staying at POR for the first time and opted for one of the royal rooms. My DS is 3 1/2 and DD is 5 months. Do you think the royal rooms are geared more towards girls or are they somewhat neutral? I feel like my son is young enough he won't care either way, but those of you who have seen these rooms in person, what is your opinion?

IMO, yes, girls are the target. Young guys do seem to enjoy the pirate rooms at CB unless he is into the princess movies. Every kid is different, heck some grown men are excited about the Royal rooms. He might enjoy the overall theming over a plain room. My son at that age was into the Turtles so a pirate sword in a pirate room would have been his heaven.

Both our kids loved the room. Our son is 9 and daughter 7. We stayed there for a few days this summer. It was our first stay there at POR and we stayed specifically for that room. Heck, I even liked them. As Gabe said, the pirate rooms at CB are cool too. Both our kids enjoyed those rooms a few years back. Im sure you and your son will enjoy the royal rooms!!!

At 3 1/2 I doubt he'll care or notice. My son is 9 and is only now concerned with what is for girls and what is for boys. In fact, when he was younger he loved the Princesses and everything to do with them. The Princesses are quite friendly for small children and I think both girls and boys find that appealing. While the room has hints of the Princesses it's not overly Princess-y or girly. The color scheme is more royal (hence the name, I guess) than princess-y. It's not pink and fluffy but more darker colors.

The needle certainly points towards the girl spectrum in the Royal rooms, but there is plenty in there that boys and Disney uber disney fans will find appealing.

This...go for it, you won't regret it. ;)

Hey there, definitely for girls. I would say the CBR Pirate Rooms are geared for boys. If you click the link to my trip report in my signature, you will see about 2 dozen pics of the Royal Rooms. I took a lot of them. We were just here in September.

Who doesn't like fiberoptic fireworks, no matter what the gender, lol?!?!?
I agree that it is more geared to girls but my DS 7 is excited to stay there in December almost as much as DD. He likes the rug, lamp, and fireworks. Plus I told him he could go fishing at the fishin hole to equal out the girlieness...

I enjoyed staying in the Royal Room the PORS grounds are just beautiful. The room is geared to girls my 4 year old daughter loved it but so did my 2 and 1/2 year old son. He was thrilled that Tiana had the room for them. We were given the upgrade free ar check in.
Enjoy your stay!

Thanks everyone! We did consider the pirate rooms at CBR, but my husband and I honeymooned there and want to try out other resorts before we return. Plus, who am I kidding?!? The little kid inside ME wants to stay in a royal room. : )
