Roy was a gentleman and as down to earth as could be. He was a patron saint for animation as far as I am concerned. And I am thrilled beyond belief that I have had the pleasure of meeting him. Many folks in the business knew he had been quite ill for a while, but it's still a shock. 79 may not be young, but it isn't really that old these days.
He really hasn't had much of a role in TWDC since his fall out with Eisner ... but he had something vastly more important ... something priceless really. ... He was part of a living legacy.
Roy ... you will be missed.

It is a sad thing, and he will be missed, talk about a guy who single handed changed that company twice for the good.
If I'm not mistaken he enjoyed his sailboats quite a bit.

I haven't been on here in awhile -- well, I lurk from time to time but haven't been posting...
I just had to post about Roy Disney - just saw it on the news today. I normally don't get too upset about celebrity deaths (I feel sad for the families but it's not like I knew them personally) but this one got me. We're a big Disney family and I am just so sad.
Rest in peace...
