Rose & Crown or Kona Cafe'?

Hey All -

I'd like to get your opinions.
We've gone to WDW the last 3 years and every year we like to try a couple of new places to dine

When going through our planning,
I noticed that almost all our planned meals bring us back to Epcot every night, and I am thinking I want to change it up a bit.

We've been to the Rose and Crown before and enjoyed it.
I've never been to the Kona Cafe, the atmosphere is NOT too stunning but the menu looks good.

What do you think?

Kona cafe is very very good. It does look more like a generic restaurant, but the food more than makes up for it. Rose and Crown is very good as well. But if you're looking for a change I'd say Kona. Then you can wander around the poly and enjoy the atmosphere of the resort.

dinner? rose & crown
breakfast? kona
if you decide to do kona, find out when wishes starts, & shoot for reservations 75-90 minutes beforehand. after dinner, head outside to watch the display from the beach.

Kona is definitely a breakfast place. If it's for dinner, I would do Rose and Crown. Breakfast, however, is Kona, hands down. Make sure to try the Tonga Toast.

On our last trip we went to Kona TWICE both for breakfast. We actually cancelled our R&C lunch to have a second breakfast at Kona. I agree 100% that the atmosphere is lacking, but the food was oh so good.

Hmmm...

I was wonder about the Breakfast thing, I hear that Tonga Toast is the bomb.

Okay well I think I'm leaning back toward the R&C.......

I LOVE Kona Cafe for dinner. It's tradition that we go there the first night of each vacation. The Poly is beautiful, we love to go get fun drinks at the Ohana bar before dinner. Then after dinner, you can go to the beach & watch the electric water pageant & Wishes fireworks. Our showing was nearly private - only one other couple was on the part of the beach we were at. Truly magical :) I recommend trying it!

Rose and Crown was our lest fav meal at WDW. And Kona was on our top 5. Rose and Crown's service was great and we were right on the lake but the food was not good. Hubby fish was sent back because it was not cooked on inside. My bangers and mash was gross.
Kona was so good and we saw Brooke Hogan there which I guess could deter you from eating there as well. Our waitress at Kona put our smoothies into go cups because we wanted to fill up on our great food, not the smoothie which we gulped down on the way to the beach in Naples FL.

Kona's Teriyaki New York Strip is delicious!!!! We had dinner there and loved it.

I used to eat at UK, until they got rid of the Prime Rib. We have Irish restaurants around where I live, like Claddagh and 9 Irish Brothers, and they both beat the pants off of the UK at Epcot, in my opinion.

But, I hate fish, and that's their claim to fame.....maybe I'm just biased.
