Hi everyone

Ive heard people say that the outside tables at the back of the Rose and Crown pub in England in Epcot is a good place to watch the illuminations.

My question is

1. Do you think there will be any tables still available during our stay Nov27-Dec4?

2. Can u request outside tables when making ADR's?

Thanks in advance for any help, hope you are all having a good day

The one thing that I will say is YES!! we ate there and our ressie's were for after 7:15, then when you check in you ask nicely for a table by the water as we did. We were lucky enough to get what we asked for and because our time was after 7:15 we were told we could stay for the show. By the way ask for the cheese sampler, the sage is fantastic. :slurp:

The CM's on the ADR line are GREAT! When I called to make 9 ADRs they helped me through all of it! We ate at Rose and Crown and watched Illuminations this past February. We asked for an outside tabel at check in and were told if it was available, we would get it. Well we ended up inside, but when Illuminations time came around, our server took us outside and seated us at a table right on the water. COmpletely unobstructed view! After Illuminations, we went back inside to our table, had dessert and waddled back to the hotel! So, even if you sit inside, you will be taken outside to watch Illuminations. Just tell the ADR line person that you want to see Illuminations, and they wil tell you the perfect time.

Dh and I ate there in May. We were told when we made DR's (done in March) that it is a first come basis. However, R&C has a stand outside you check-in with for walk-up and DR's. Our reservations was for 6:45 p.m. but I went up at 2 p.m. and told the CM I was looking for an outside table. She said she would "mark it down". When we came back and checked in for dinner, we had an outside table right up on the railing. Our server was awesome, Sara from Wales. She asked if we hoped to view the show from there, we said yes, and she said that she would "slow down" our service so we can watch dessert while we were watching Illuminations. It was great!

Our ADR's for R&C were for 7:45PM - were told the outside seating was first come, first served. Turned out, the temps outside were about 50 degrees, so we were glad we were seated inside!! After dinner, our server, who was wonderful, by the way, escorted us outside to a special roped-off section to view Illuminations.

We have had very good luck asking for outside tables. You have to time your reservation for right after 7:00 PM, and then very politely ask. Tables of more than 4 are more difficult to secure. They allow 2 hours for dinner (multiple servers have told me this) and are very happy to accommodate you if they can.

Seated inside or out, we have always found the staff at the R&C to be among the nicest at the World. Typically chatty and engaging, they are usually wonderful. We have always found the food to be good as well. The menu has changed multiple times over the years, and our last experience found it more limited than is past years, but still well prepared with large portions.

When we haven't been able to secure a table outside, we have usually watched and grabbed a table in the next door public seating area. Someone on this site recently mentioned that area had been removed, but it was there last October. I don't know if it's changed, but that's just as nice a view as the R&C next door. You can also get a stein of Guiness at the entrance, which can be HEAVEN after a long day at Epcot!

We try at least one new restaurant at Epcot every year, but after 11 annual visits, the R&C remains our favorite. Bangers and Mash anyone?

Long live Epcot.

I can say that in my experience, the folks at Rose and Crown try to be very accomodating when you make a request at check-in for your ADR.
of the four times I have been during Illuminations, they were able to seat us outside for three of them. Hope you have the same experience !

Seating at The Rose And Crown is done by availability. You will be seated at the next available table that will accomodate the size of your party - they do not take requests when booking or when turning up to dine.
