Roller Coasters, MNSSHP, and Character Stalking September PTR/TR

I just finished up my first ever Trip Report of my first ever trip to Disney World only a month or so ago and here i am writing my first ever PTR for my second trip to Disney. To check out my December 2010 trip report click here http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=708766 I enjoyed my first trip so much that a week or two after we got back i booked a trip for this September. We hit the December 20th deadline so we were lucky to get free dining. We chose September so we could attend MNSSHP and experience nicer weather this time.

I have four goals for this trip:

1. Ride all the roller coasters. My first trip consisted of Me, my boyfriend ( roller coaster wuss) and our just turned 3 year old son who wasn't quite tall enough or ready to do the rollercoasters. This year were adding my brother-in-law to the mix who isn't scared of anything so he'll be my partner in crime.

2. Attend MNSSHP. On our first trip we did MVMCP and it was a blast. I'm really excited about MNSSHP. I love Halloween and can't wait to find costumes for us to wear.

3. Character Stalking. We never did the autograph thing on our first trip. This time i'm going all out and making my own autograph book and am going to get as many as i can.

4. WWOHP. I'm a big Harry Potter fan. We never left Disney property last time. This time i'm dedicating two days to Universal so i can definately get it WWOHP.

So our little family taking on this adventure will be myself ( Becki -29), my boyfriend ( Chris - 30), our son (Cohen -3) and my boyfriends brother (Jeff -21). We will be staying at POP Century September 12th - 20th. I heard great things about this resort. We purchased our plane tickets back in January and got an awesome deal with Air Canada of only $400 a ticket. Taxes in. Plus no luggage fees for our first piece of luggage. So were all booked and putting money on our remaining Disney balance every month.

Can't wait to read your PTR! You'll love Disney in September! That's the time of year we always go. I think you made a great choice with POP Century. It's our favorite value resort and we've stayed there several times!

I am very excited to stay at POP. I'm hoping there will be nice warm weather is September. When we went in December it was freezing.

Here is the intinarary for our vacation. ADR"s are all made.

ARRIVAL DAY: Monday, September 12th.Our flight leaves Halifax at 6:35am with a connection in Montreal. Were suppose arrive in Orlando around noon.
The plan is to rest from the flight when we get to the resort before heading out to our Dinner Reservations. If our room is not ready we plan on hitting the pool if the weather is nice so we're going to pack our swim wear in our carry on luggage. We have ADR's at 1900 Park Fare for 4:30pm. Then we're going to go to Epcot and walk around World Showcase a bit and watch Illuminations ( haven't seen this yet).

Day 1: Tuesday, September 13th. This morning, Chris and Jeff are going to do the Richard Petty Driving Experience while me and Cohen have a late breakfast ADR at 1900 Park Fare. Then me and Cohen are going to go back to the resort and go swimming and check out the playground. That night the Magic Kingdom closes at 7:00pm so were hoping it is a MNSSHP night so we'll spend the evening there.

Day 2: Wednesday, September 14th. This is going to be a Universal day. There's a few things we would like to check out here and I'd like to be back at the resort early so I can take Cohen to the Chip and Dale Campfire Sing-a-long over at Fort Wilderness. It looks like something he would enjoy.

Day 3 : Thursday September 15th. This day is for Hollywood Studios. We have breakfast ADR's at Hollywood & Vine and the Fantasmic dining Package at Mama Melrose ( haven't seen this show yet)

Day 4: Friday, September 16th. Breakfast reservations at Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club then heading on over to Epcot for the day. Spending the evening downtown and dinner reservations at T-Rex. Epcot has evening EMH this night so me and Jeff will probably head back there while Chris and Cohen go back to the resort.

Day 5 : Saturday, September 17th. Breakfast ADR's at Tusker House at Animal Kingdom. Just want to check out a few things here and hopefully head back to the resort by noon. Spend the afternoon at the pool and then head over to Fort Wilderness for our dinner at Mickeys Backyard BBQ.

Day 6: Sunday, September 18th. Magic Kingdom day! Breakfast ADR's at Crystal Palace and dinner ADR"S at Chef Mickeys. Magic Kingdom has evening EMH this night so me and Jeff will probably stay until closing and Chris and Cohen will head back to the resort.

Day 7: Monday, September 19th. This day is for IOA. I'll be spending a big chunk of the day at WWOHP and we'll probably stay until closing which is only 6 or 7pm.

Departure Day: Our flight leaves at 10:00am so Magical Express will be picking us up around 7:00am. We have a connection in Toronto and arrive in Halifax sometime around 4:30.

Of course i'll have to change things around if MNSSHP doesn't fall on that Tuesday night. Here's hoping it all works out!

A few days ago i picked up a Sketch pad that i thought would be perfect for an autograph book. It has coiled binding and the pages are nice and thick. It's a about 6" x 8" size. I also picked up stickers, glitter and fancy letters. I can't wait to get started. I'm going to look on the net for some pictures i can add as well. When i get some of it done i will post some pictures.

I already made up my Mousekeeping Envelopes with the tips already in them. They're pretty simple. I found some clip art of Disney characters and glued them on and put "Thank You Mousekeeping" in a gold pen.

I also estimated what our tips would be for each of our meals and put that money aside and also money for the extra meals we'll be paying for out of pocket so we won't have to worry about it when we're there. I'm a little OCD when it comes to planning something. I like being prepared.

So i changed a few things with our intinarary. For arrival day were just going to go downtown for a while and i got us reservations at T-Rex. Then we're going to head over to Hollywood Studios for evening EMH. Day 4, we're not going to go downtown at all and i made our dinner reservations for 1900 Park Fare for this night. So i think this is how our schedule will stay. I'm still waiting for the MNSSHP dates and hoping that Tuesday, September 13th is one of them so i don't have to do anymore changes.

The MNSSHP dates were released and luckily Tuesday September 13th is one of the dates, so that worked out great. I purchased out tickets already and we will be picking them up at willcall. Last year when i got our MVMCP it gave me the option to print out my tickets but it didn't give me that option this time and i didn't want to pay $25 to get them shipped so i went with willcall.

YAY for getting everything paid off!! :sohappy:

WWOHP is AMAZING!! I went for the first time back in November and we waited 60 minutes for the Forbbiden Journey ride... Worth the wait!! It was awesome!! We also went again in May and only waited about 15-20 mins. The land is so well done but since there are only 3 rides there, we didn't spend a ton of time there.

My recommendation, don't go to WWOHP first thing in the AM. It seems like EVERYONE headed there when the park open and there was a line just to get into the area itself... And the line to get into Olliviander's was about 45 mins + both times... It's crazy busy there!! I'd try to hit other things in the park that you'd enjoy first then head over there after the craziness subsides. But since you're going at an off time hopefully it won't be so bad!!

Thanks for the tip for WWOHP. I read a lot of reports and everyone goes there first so i can imagine it being very busy first thing in the morning

Any ideas on your costumes yet? We've gone to MNSSHP twice in September and it has been hot!!!! Make sure your costumes are lightweight it will help when you are walking all over hitting the trick or treat stops.

Better late then never!

So, It has been six months since our Disney trip and i'm just now getting around to doing my trip report. After moving across the country, and then moving back across the country i finally found some calmness and thought i better start this thing.

ARRIVAL DAY: We chose an early flight so we still had a lot of day left when we arrived. We got up around 3am and drove the 1 hour drive to the airport to catch a 6am flight and give us time to get through custums. The flight was smooth and we arrived in Orlando around noon. We found the Magical Express after getting lost for a little bit and were soon on our way to Pop Century!

I had packed mine and Cohen's swimwear in our carryons so as soon as we arrived me and him got dressed and headed for the kids splash area. The weather was beautiful. A little bit hot but i didn't mind because i was at DISNEY!

After some fun outside me and Cohen went back to our room and met up with Chris and Jeff. Then we all got ready to head for our dinner reservation at Chef Mickey's. For those of you who did not read my previous trip report last time we went to Chef Mickeys i spent my time in the bathroom being sick. So i was looking forward to enjoying it this time because i felt great!

We got there quite early. There was no one around. Then a nice lady came up to us and asked if Cohen would like to open the restaurant that evening. He's a little shy around strangers but he did it with his dads help. What an awesome experience! He still talks about it!

Mickey brought Cohen over to a table and got Cohen to sign his autograph book. He just learned to print his name and he did an excellent job.
