You said DHS was a trash fire, I assumed was because of Jedi Academy? Or do you mean the park in its entirety?
DHS and the Star Wars Celebration Weekends were trash fires. The Jedi Academy and Stormtrooper parades weren't an issue. We had Jedi Academy in Tomorrowland here. Its a fun idea and it should have been given a plussed version in GE. Give us the Star Wars equivalent of selecting a magic wand with a kid able to do fun Jedi stuff.

Sounds like Rogers is going on a brief hiatus..

Only going to miss like 2 days since it only shows Tuesday - Saturday however..

Haunted Mansion premiere is being put up in the Hyperion on the 15th. Due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, they changed it to a D23 fan event.

The show is normally dark on Sundays and Mondays too, rounding out the hiatus until the 18th.

First video I could find of the alternate for Nick Fury. I kinda like this actor more than the original imo. He has a much different persona during his segment and What'd you Missed.

I also like this Fury more! Voice is much clearer and I like his characterization a little more.

Seems like there's an alternate in for Peggy too, though I prefer the principal cast there.

Agree on the voice!

In the Save the City reprise finale, I thought Fury was saying "And now you know we wonnn" this whole time, but in actuality he was saying "And now you know what you missed", thanks to the clearer voice from this Fury lol.

According to Disneyland officials via the Orange County Register, Rogers: The Musical will not be extending its run at this time.

“Rogers: The Musical” will end its summer run on Aug. 31 and the limited-time engagement at the Hyperion Theater won’t be extended at this time, according to Disneyland officials.

While some entertainment at the Disneyland resort returns after an initial run, others open and close as dedicated limited-time offerings, according to Disneyland officials.

The 35-minute one-act musical runs Tuesdays through Saturdays with showtimes at 12:15 p.m., 1:45 p.m. and 4 p.m.

At the moment, nothing new is scheduled to replace “Rogers” in the Hyperion Theater. It took six months to prepare “Rogers” for its Hyperion debut — so it’s unlikely anything new will be moving into the 2,000-seat theater this year. Disneyland has not posted any Hyperion acting roles to the Disney Auditions website — typically the first sign a new show is in the works.

Disney Live Entertainment could always bring back “Rogers” to the Hyperion for another run — but that’s unlikely in the immediate future. It would make more sense to extend the run rather than cut loose all the actors and rehire a new cast to play Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Ant-Man and Hawkeye."

It was nice to have something in the Hyperion again, but the show just didn't feel like the right fit. There's certainly an audience ready-made to love a Marvel musical (at least in theory? Not sure how much overlap there is between Marvel and musical theater fans. Perhaps that was a problem). And yet, the audience I saw the show with seemed to like it but not love it. The reaction didn't feel akin to that at the end of an Aladdin or Frozen performance. The show was thrown together and temporary and, to me, felt it.

I'm happy they tried something different, but I'm not sad that the show's closing. Would be interesting to see what the guest satisfaction numbers looked like.

Not surprised as they want the queue back for Oogie Boogie Bash. I think it would be great to bring it back to run through the holidays though as a perfect companion to the Hawkeye holiday show I hope they bring back to Campus. But since they'll have their holiday cavalcade going through the street nearby, they may not have enough cast members to deal with crowd control.

And yeah, if it's not brought back by then, it would be more challenging to get the cast back again in January. (And the two Steves are FANTASTIC and their Nick Fury has really grown into the role, started improving, just fun stuff.)

The couple of times I've seen the show, the theater was full and the audience had a great time.

I'm going to be sorry to see this go. :( But I hope to catch it a few more times before it does.

I just saw the show for the first time today. Went to the 4:00 (orchestra) and 5:30 (balcony).

It’s basically a workshop - not a fully produced show yet. Lighting is good - it’s a fun show. I’m not a marvel fan but I enjoyed it.

The lead reminds me of Aaron Teveit in next to normal…. That’s a compliment but it does say “stereotype of broadway hit” - also crazy similar “what you missed” song to Hamilton.

I’ll be seeing it again on this trip since it’s closing soon. I can definitely see them trying for a broadway run.

I do not see a Broadway run of this show. Disney didn't even attempt Broadway with Hunchback, which was brilliant, nor with Hercules, which was a bland experiment to get it into the MTI Catalogue for community theatres and school groups.

I agree. There didn't appear to be enough of a following that developed at DCA where the show would theoretically have every advantage in developing a following, let alone on Broadway. If there had been, they surely would have extended the run.

IP may be king, even on Broadway now, but as I've said before, I'm not sure how much Marvel and musical fans overlap.

Considering the abysmal failure that was Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark and the stigma of Its a Bird, Its a Plane, Its Superman, the Musical, I don't see Disney risking billions on a Broadway go. Broadway has been very hard to crack in recent years, and bringing something so half-baked and low-brow seems like a recipe for lost investments.

Back to the Future has the benefit of beloved songs, films, and amazing special effects. But even that couldn't save the show from the reality of a mediocre script and bland new music.
