News Rogers the Musical coming to the Hyperion Theater

The original idea was the Hyperion was to have an additional entrance outside of the park for separate ticketed Broadway-type shows.
They've promised upgrades to it for over twenty years. I think we will get the Tomorrowland entrance before that happens.

They probably could have sold tickets to both Aladdin and Frozen. While not total Broadway quality, they were very good productions.

Honestly, I thought Frozen, on a technical level, was heads and shoulders above Aladdin.

It never got its due because of both Frozen fatigue and people just being unable to accept that it was time for Aladdin to close.

I do agree, Frozen was pretty wow technically, but I think Aladdin was a more enjoyable show. Some properties just don't adapt to the stage as well.

Look at Frozen broadway vs Aladdin broadway.

I'm not the first to say it, but Aladdin understood that it was being performed at a theme park. Frozen was more aspirational, but arguably to its detriment.

Aladdin had physical sets, Frozen had great puppets, but all of the sets were projections and the stage always felt bare. The sleigh chase was a good moment and I liked the in-air projections on the mini scrims, but even Elsa's transformation was terribly staged. There should have been at least a puff of CO2 to make her pulling the rip cord for the change dress.

The only moments which I wanted worked better in Aladdin was the ending of One Jump, and the stage choreo for Whole New World. But as a whole, Aladdin had great design and a ton of charm.

Take a moment before the show even starts to pamper yourself—and take advantage of first access to seat selection!
  • Reserved seating in an exclusive lounge area in front of Stage 12, where you can relax before entering the theater
  • A Rogers: The Musical souvenir popcorn bucket with red, white and blue kettle corn and your choice of a Coca-Cola® bottled beverage, available upon arrival and before performance time

Gawd, how much fun must it be to work in TDA's Comm department and write crap like that? 🤣

I'm sure the summer intern that wrote that is a sweet kid, but the phrase "pamper yourself" is obviously not the right one here.

This is what I consider "pampering yourself" when in Orange County...

But this environment below is not the same thing as actual pampering, self or otherwise.

What that actually is called is "Paying $29 To Wait In Front Of Stage 12 With a Coke Before Being Allowed Into The Theater"

Disney has shared a new behind-the-scenes video on the making of Rogers: The Musical.

LOL at the rehearsal room. Otherwise, I'm surprised at all the set changes and pieces (though I suppose a lot of it is simply reusing the Frozen platforms I'm sure). Part of me thinks this will still be pretty bad but we'll see. 😂

Not that the show isn’t good, but I can’t imagine listening to Disney Twitter as if they can offer genuine critical reviews. These are the same people that spend $50 for a new popcorn bucket every week and like Mission Breakout.
And the same people that will do anything to stay on the list for media events.
