ROE Test Show

I think this new substitution is great. Mind you, I hope they fix the globe and get it back as quickly as possible, but for the meantime, I don't think they could have done a better job. Now if they can only get rid of that barf-alicious line of "And may all your dreams come true" at the end (and bring back the original intro), everything will be great.

I saw whatever show they had back in the late 80s. I can't remember much about it. I saw the latest show for the first time in December and enjoyed it. I stood over by the American pavilion and had no trouble seeing anything on the globe at all.

Thanks for freezing to bring us video of Illuminations sans globe. Great job!

Somebody wake up Martin ;).
I`m here! Thanks Figment82 ;) - you can tell you know your RoE!

Interesting. To the day guest it`ll work very well (and to those who don`t know the storyline.) Any news on what parts are being waited on for the refurb proper?

I`m looking forward to seeing what laser effects are added when the refurb begins proper. Compared to IllumiNations (and 25A & B) RoEs lasers just don`t cut it. That`s why I was being specific asking earlier for the best seat in the house for video; being lined up with the Am Ad shows the lasers to their best.

Upgrade the lasers, Upgrade the lasers, UPGRADE THE DAMN LASERS!

Put a 50watt yag system in place of each of the current units.
That alone would do sooo much for this show.

Hopefully whilst they are `tweaking` they will readjust some of the pyro backtimings. Several parts have become so out of sync they no longer have the effect they did in the shows first few years. Remember when during `Chaos` the red flickers lit in the water as the inferno barge went out, and extinguished just as it came back on? Or in `Home` there were 3 distinct bursts to each colour, in time to the music, not 1 then 2? How about when the 4 hi altitude star bursts in `Celebration` all exploded at the same time? Or the great effect when at the end of `We Go On` the white multi point finale effect stopped dead on its music cue, allowing the hi alt perimeter rockets to launch in the dark - and hit exactly the launches from the barges as if they were exploding into each other at the same height? Fussy? Yes. Disney? Very much so.

And here I thought I was the only one who noticed those things. The red flickers bug me the most, as it's supposed to be the ones in the air landing in the water -- to look like one seamless effect -- no two seperate ones. Regardless, the show is still amazing if not always pulled off perfectly.

I meant to bring that up in a post in this thread but I didn't feel the need to reiterate what most people had said.

Those red 'floaters' seem to be launched at the same time they were back in 2000-2004 but they seem to ignite just a couple of seconds before the second burst of the inferno barge. Along with a slightly delayed launch, they may also be manufactured a bit differently.

The launch of the gold aerials in 'Home' is also delayed considerably.
I also agree with you on the what I like to call 1,000 shot day in to night burst.

In reference to the modified show, I would like to see some elements used in the regular show as well. I wouldn't mind some of the bursts in 'Life'. I also liked that the strobes on all of the countries were turned on at the beginning of 'Adventure' just before the multi-colored crackle. An improvement over just having the Maxi barge strobes. I would also like to see those gold floating fountains added to "We Go On".

Oh, one other thing I'd like to mention. An oopsie that occured last night was that only one ALF shell was launched from the center slip instead of two.

I, too, thought the filler show was kind of weak compaired to the regular show. Yet, I'd rather have the filler show go for 2 to 3 months to get the globe back in shape.

Recent RoE Pyro Differences

Oh, one other thing I'd like to mention. An oopsie that occured last night was that only one ALF shell was launched from the center slip instead of two.

I HATE when this happens. Twice I've tried to videotape the show and both times only one shell exploded. Is this just an "Oops" moment, are did they forget to put the other shell in? Either way, VERY ANNOYING!

Actually, I'm a very BIG fan of IllumiNations, RoE, and check YouTube everyday for new videos of the show (a little extreme, I know). Since we're on the subject of firework effects during the show, I thought I'd make a list of some changes I've noticed over the past year:

1. The "Big Bang" fireworks have been made bigger, and now that the ALF effect is operational again, this total effect is as good as it was when the show first started.

2. As others have stated, the red flickers are a few seconds out of alignment with the red bursts. The effect should be that the light from the bursts is landing on the water (symbolizing the creation of objects in the universe). However, there was a time, fairly recently, when these did not function AT ALL! So, while they may not be exactly right, its nice to see that they have them working again.

3. The 4 colored bursts were off for some time recently. The first set of bursts were fine, but the subsequent air bursts for the 3 remaining colors were off and not synchronized very well, as they exploded too early. Furthermore, for some time, orange bursts were going off when there should have been green bursts! This happend multiple times too. Thankfully, this seems to have been fixed, and all is well with this set.

4. The 3 sets of 4 golden fireworks just before the Celebration sequence have been changed. They now have more of a sparkle, and linger longer in the sky. However, they seem to have gotten smaller in the process. Also, the cascading white fireworks seem smaller.

5. For a time, the four ending bursts of circle fireworks in the Celebration sequence were off, with the second and third bursts exploding too close together. This seems to have been addressed.

6. The colored fireworks at the end of the show have been changed, and are smaller than they used to be. Also, the bursts from the perimeter of the lagoon are different now, and burn out much earlier than before.

As I said, I'm a BIG fan of the show, and probably know a little too much about it for my own good. However, has anyone else noticed these changes over the past year?

I have noticed all of them.

One thing I must say about the area that I bold-ed is that the first and second round of sea-wall shots just prior to and just after celebration/meaning are smaller, have a faster burn time, and are much less explosive than the final volley just prior to the final blast. I have only seen the smaller perimeters used once at the finale and that was in a fairly early show (2000).

Just thought of another change. The blue bursts during the celebration sequence are smaller than they used to be, but do not burn out as quickly as the previous shells that were used.

Did anyone else notice that the sets/rounds of fireworks in "Home " and "Adventure" were the same from the 25th tag. They looked very similar.

Wow...That was very odd.IllumiNations looks so empty without the barge!

I did however LOVE the new effects they added.Perhaps we could have those in a normal showing once the barge is back?

Does anyone know yet if the globe was out tonight (either way -- out on the lagoon, or out of the show)?

I'm REALLY hoping it is going down now, and will be back for my June trip. It seems to make sense they would take it out now for a few weeks after President's day and before Spring Break/F&G fest.

It is not going down now. Sometime in the summer perhaps.
