Okay....my daughter LOVES Rockin Roller Coaster....I however, am not a fan of roller coasters.

My question is, are there any BIG drops on the ride. I know it goes fast and does some loops, but what about drops? I can handle fast and I think I can handle loops.

I want to try and ride with her next week when we are there for her birthday.

There are no huge drops in RnRC. In a traditional roller coaster all of the energy that a roller coaster has is generated by that first drop. RnRC is launched using a linear induction motor so that first big drop is not needed.

no drops.... you just have to handle a 60+mph launch, using the linear induction motor system at the start....

By most looping roller coaster standards, its relatively tame, but you will definitely enjoy it.

Take a chance, you might find that you like it!

You go high, but it dosn`t really have a drop as such to follow. It`s over before you know it.

Oh, it`s Rock aNd Rollercoaster

I rode it our first trip and chickened out the second trip. Rode it again last year on our third trip and boy, am I glad I didn't chicken out this time! It is one of my favourite WDW rides now, and I am not a huge coaster fan to begin with (although I do ride all of the ones in WDW). The hardest part is standing in the line, waiting to board the ride, and you see all the people screaming at take-off. This is where me and the kids always get nervous. But once you are on it and blastoff, the ride is so quick, you are done before you know it. And no really big drops to worry about.

GREAT ride!!!! :sohappy:

Understood. About the most intimidating thing about RnRC is the launch. Once you go through that it is pretty much smooth sailing.

You should give it a try. It is short for a coaster, I beleive about 45 seconds (I'm sure someone will post the exact running time), and it really smoothes out once you get past the first loop. Just keep telling yourself you can take anything for 45 seconds. Also if you want a smother ride request a front seat. The front seats don't gat whipped about as much as the rear seats.

No drops at all. There are a couple of inversions, but the train's initial speed up is what carries it through the whole ride.

This is kind of a strange tip but during the ride, push your head back into the seat as much as you can. The ride goes so fast that sometimes my head bounces around between the restraint. Usually when I get off, I have a bit of a headache (it goes away quickly :) ) I find that if I push my head back against the seat it helps.

Oh, and enjoy! You will love it :D

You of all people! The official name of the ride is "Rock 'n' Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith".

It sounds like your biggest fear may be heights, since you say you can even handle the inversions, is that correct? If so, then I wouldn't worry. I don't even know how big the drops are (they can't be that big because the show building isn't that tall), but the ride is in the dark so you can't even tell how high you are. I will say that I've never had a sensation of height while on RnRC. Speed, inversion, and disorientation yes, but not height.

If you can, try and keep your eyes open during the ride, as the visuals are quite impressive (IMHO). Enjoy!

I have always been phobic of heights. I avoid Tower of Terror, and things with big drops, but I love the Rock N Roller Coaster. Speed & loops don't bother me either. So if I can handle this one, I promise you can too. :)

Hi I love this coaster its all in doors as I am sure you know and dark which helps with ppl who have fears of coasters, my only complaint is that it is way too short. Go for it, you will be fine. :)

I believe its 1 minute and 22 seconds. atleast I think thats what the Celebrations magazine stated. :ROFLOL:,but for the OP.. Deffinately give it a try. It is a tame rollercoaster and the music really adds some pump. You'll be fine.

You should be fine. If anything the inversions and the blast off are the worst part. We even got my Mom to ride last trip and she does NOT do roller coasters or any kind of ride that goes upside down. It really is a fun ride.
