Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Refurb in October?

We have the typical ones, those who think they're above those of us needing a place to vent, to thank for the truly psychotic derailment of this thread. Remember, its our fault.

Yet again Japan showing the American parks how it SHOULD be done. Alas, we're forever stuck with poorly designed websites and an even more clumsy refurbishment schedule. But its okay because there's plenty of cupcake parties to compensate.

I truly can't believe some people have the time or even feel that passionately to post such consistent replies! I never knew there was such a class system on the WDW Magic forums!

With the capacity restraints coming to DHS soon (that's right there is more) this is really preventative. Disney does not want this down for refurb later, when the park is really scraping along. I'm sorry to @prfctlyximprct @Disneykings @KingdomofDreams and others that this fell on your Vacay, but this refurb is opening (and admittedly closing) some doors that will help to enhance further vacations.

PS Sorry that went corporate, but this refurb is a result of a few things

I have no problem with people being upset or sad about an attraction being down during their visit. What I object to is the anger expressed in a way that instead of disappointed, there is something inherently wrong with them fixing attractions. Anger, that they would have the nerve to do something like that when they are going to be there. Why didn't they consult with us and we would have been able to tell them that we are going to be there that time and could they please schedule that shutdown for another time? Pretty please with sugar on it?

They aren't expressing their disappointment in any manner that warrants anyone's concern, because their demands are unwarranted and they wouldn't be "venting" that way if it closed the week after because then it is no longer their problem but that of the people that are coming later... so no problem. Disney isn't all that bad because they just did it to them and not me. Complain if you want about it being closed. Tell us how much you love the attraction and how bummed you are that your timing was awful. Just don't make it into something that Disney did wrong because it doesn't fall in line with your specific plans.

Shush. I come here for news and entertainment. News there is plenty of, Disney pretty much creates that on their own. The entertainment comes through the drama that unfolds as people react to that news and the reactions of others. :D

Before anyone cries that I and others like me are getting our chuckles at their expense let me add: We've all been there and that there are other things going on in this world that should evoke true anger and real tears. But, vent away, we understand.

Popcorn anyone?

I feel you. Unfortunately, I am a 20 something year old paying student loan debt and trying to survive in this world, and I've saved portions and portions of my paycheck in order to return to Disney this year. I booked this trip almost a year out, and I knew about the Rivers of Light delay, I knew about Big Thunder being closed, so for that I could not complain. But now, AK night time hours are shortened (Nov currently closes at 6), Disney can't give a straight answer on if the Star Wars fireworks are staying (they still aren't listed in the fall schedule), the MSEP is going to Disneyland, and now another E-ticket is going down for refurbishment, without a 60 day warning. It just really truly breaks my heart.

I get it, safety is safety and I would want to be safe on any given ride. It just doesn't seem like that much of a safety issue if they can schedule it in 2 months and still have it operating all the time....

I don't have the luxury to just shrug it off and say, oh well I'll ride it next time. I don't know when next time will actually be. I consider myself to be one of the most diehard Disney park goers, and even I am heartbroken. This isn't the Disney I knew and loved. I am sorry for venting to you all, but I know you'll understand.

:( :( :(
The animal kingdom hours alone are a joke. DHS is barely open and the night features added to DAK were actually impressive. They gave that park a huge perk and essentially took it away when they needed the most. Consumer loses.

I actually think the novelty of DAK being open at night was the bigger deal. The attendance showed that a lot of people weren't interested in staying that late. And for good reason:

Really, there wasn't that much to do. All the animal exhibits close, which eliminates a huge chunk of the park's attraction. The night safari is a novelty and neat to see once, but it's vastly inferior to the ride during the day.

DAK at night is basically like DHS during the day: wipe the pixie dust out of your eyes and there's not enough to do. Plain and simple.

If rivers of light opened which allowed people to look forward to something, then the nighttime hours would be no problem. Since jungle book is crap, and there's nothing to hold the people there, everyone's gonna leave. Me included.

Wouldn't it be a kicker if they were removing all references to Aerosmith due to the whole "shocker" fiasco, and Tyler's comment after it came to light? And...and...what if Tyler's visit so soon after finding out was because he wanted to ride it one last time the way it is??! *evil laugh*

Not really, but thanks for the substantive comment.
There may not be a lot of things for you to do, but, you are not everybody. If you take in all the shows and Fantasmic plus whatever rides that do exist you will spend a better part of the day. Add in a meal or two while you are there and before you know it... the day is over. If you cannot find enough to do, it's very unfortunate, however, your problem doesn't constitute everyones. Is that substantive enough for you.

I don't know how much haterade you chug in the morning, but you should probably cut it back a glass or two.

You might want to express that same concern to Talking Head or ask yourself for that matter. I'm not hating at all. It's everyone else that seems to be bent on exaggerating everything to the point of ridiculous. Again like I've said about a gazillion times, if what is there isn't enough to keep any of you happy, the solution is so simple it is almost craziness to repeat. Don't go there. Find a different park if it doesn't suit your needs, no one has to go to anyplace that they don't like or don't think is worth while. Remember the old "just say no" slogan? We can just alter that to "just don't go". Then everyone will be a lot happier. I heard that Universal has a lot of cool stuff.

Which is exactly why I stated my DHS day will be spent at Universal.

Another lovely thread wherein a group of adults cannot discuss the goings on and daily operations of a theme park without dissolving into bitter chaos.

I couldn't help but laugh earlier at the fact that the group of posters being called corporate defenders for bringing actual knowledge into the debate are usually a group that would fall into the "doomer" category, though I feel such labels are asinine.

Nope. He's on a solo tour and was scheduled to play Clearwater this past Monday, the 29th. So he had plans to be in the area and when he is, he usually stops off at WDW.
