No!!!! This was on our must do list, first ride of the day on 30th October. Never done it before. first year our daughter is tall enough Three years of being turned away due to height
Well guess my Hollywood Studios day will be spent at Universal
I never said there was no beauty left. But with everything that is gone and being torn down and the lack of options it's embarrassing that you need to pay $$$ for a shell of a park. I have high standards for my investment in time and money. If I agree to pay the money to go to a 5 star hotel and the lobby is beautiful but the bed feels like it belongs in a Motel 6 then I'm not going to enjoy my stay.So there is no beauty left at DHS?
It's not my rose coloured glasses that make me appreciate ToT - the spooky, misty grounds; the haunting music as you wend your way through crumbling, abandoned fountains and gardens; the awesome level of detail in the salon, reception area, library, and basement.
The fountain in Muppet courtyard is delightfully quirky.
The ongoing construction (however can one complain about that?!) does nothing to detract from the amazing building facades, the intricately tiled floors, the fascinating ceilings.
Go into a shop. Look up. Look down.
There is still so much beauty to appreciate at DHS, irrespective of what kind of glasses you wear.
I never said there was no beauty left.
But I do have to point out that your comment about how beautiful each park is and detailed theming is wrong. DHS is a construction zone with 3 worthy rides and not much else.
Safety has many faces. Preventive actions are probably the biggest of safety related things that they do. Why do you insist that it is something of extreme, known entities, instead of procreative action to prevent harm and injury. You are jumping a very large gap by assuming that there is an immediate problem that would potentially endanger people right now, instead of lets look at this situation closely and see if anything needs to be done, now instead of later. It could even be something that really isn't a problem right this minute, but, could be if left long enough so they give everyone a chance to alter their plans 60 days in advance instead of just waiting until it breaks down. Those awful Disney people.Well here's hoping all the riders from here until October 27 don't fly off to the moon if it truly is a "safety issue"
See you will get in trouble when you start to put words in other peoples mouths. The comment was how beautiful each "park" was. Park as a whole not about pieces of the park. And I stand by my statement DHS as a park as a whole is no longer beautiful.Yeah, you pretty much did.
Was advised today by Disney that RNRC would be down for a "scheduled safety refurb" on October 27th. We booked our Fastpasses for it just a few days ago, yet now they're trying to say it was a "scheduled" refurb. Was very aggravated so I didn't ask more questions at the time. Was this common knowledge and I just missed it?

Japan doesn't have these problems.This. This is why we can't have rehabs more often, because folks complain when attractions are down when it's THEIR time to be on vacation and decide to launch a barrage of complaint letters. Does it suck? Yes. But you have four parks, two water parks, an entire dining/shopping district, and dozens of resorts. There are much, much worse things in life than having your favorite ride down AND plenty of other things to do.
As NowInc said, there's so many different elements that happen with attractions. Something that is planned to be fixed a year from now could be much more problematic than anticipated, thereby bringing it down sooner. These things happen. The amount of entitlement here from the OP and the second commenter is kind of astounding...nuff said.

This thread went ape something with an s bananas. So are people not allowed to vent anymore...I'm laughing at everyone who is venting and complaining about the others who are venting and complaining about this ride being down. They have every right to be ****ed that maintenance is happening during their vacay and I'm sure they are aware that maintenance does need to happen, yes it sucks and if they want to blow of some steam, then who cares..if you don't care to read it, visit the other 586,472,614 other threads on this forum. This is supposed to be a place where you can talk about Disney stuff that if you tried to talk about with your friends/ co-workers, etc they would look at you like you were nuts..Not get judged by other Disney lovers ...but that's just me I guess
I'm boycotting Disney until they stop doing maintenance on my favorite attractions. Who's with me??!
This I understand and sympathize with. No!!!! This was on our must do list, first ride of the day on 30th October. Never done it before. first year our daughter is tall enough Three years of being turned away due to height
As to the theme of the thread though.... So basically people want refurbs, just not during their own vacation?
I remember when people were outraged that Swiss Family Treehouse was going to be refurbed this summer. That has to be the EASIEST attraction to simulate on your own. Go to your hotel, walk up and down the stairs as needed.
I have no problem with people being upset or sad about an attraction being down during their visit. What I object to is the anger expressed in a way that instead of disappointed, there is something inherently wrong with them fixing attractions. Anger, that they would have the nerve to do something like that when they are going to be there. Why didn't they consult with us and we would have been able to tell them that we are going to be there that time and could they please schedule that shutdown for another time? Pretty please with sugar on it?So are people not allowed to vent anymore...I'm laughing at everyone who is venting and complaining about the others who are venting and complaining about this ride being down.
