According to LP's periscope, you ARE able to spot the Mark Twain between the new iron RR bridge and the jumping fish pond. The current fence keeps us from knowing how far down the view goes, so I don't know if the river itself (or how it could connect to the pond) will be visible in the finished product.

BUT, what this does mean is that while on the Mark Twain, while in the MIDDLE of your journey, you'll be able to see guests on Big Thunder Trail, right before the Native American scene on the river.

It will be interesting to see if this view gets blocked with more trees, or if WDI thinks it won't be a bad disruption. I'm not sure if it is a big deal, but I'm preemptively acknowledging something nay-sayers may say nay about.

Isn't the ROA technically in Frontierland (or, more accurately, on the Frontierland-NOS border)? What's the issue then?

The only issue I was thinking was that in the middle of your river journey, it's nice to think that you've travelled really far from people, deeper into the wilderness... and that the Native American village wouldn't be perceived to be on the other side of a hill from crowded Big Thunder Trail.

Like I said, this might not be a big deal, but it could be a weird note to see moms parking strollers in the middle of the river excursion.

Im having a hard time visualizing but it sounds like during the entire journey now boat riders will have some sort of view of guests walking around? So will there still be a portion (as in the old northern portion of the ROA) where a rider feels like they re in the wilderness or is that lost now? I'm guessing yeah since during the middle of the journey you can see Big Thunder trail. That's too bad, if true.

On the flip side, will there be any vantage point along the ROA Shore where guests can see the boats do an entire loop?

I actually think it's a big loss. Not that you can see guests at that point in the trail specifically because that happens now all along NOS. The loss would be not feeling at any moment on the trip that your deep in the wilderness.

Possibly - like I said, we don't know how far down the view goes. The trail might be something guests on the top deck of the Mark Twain can see, but the bottom two decks won't...? It might work out fine.

The photos I saw are terrible. I get that it's gloomy and they're probably taking these with cell phone cameras, but yuck.

I was thinking about this and, Walt forgive me, but shortening the river and placing these scenes along the north and northeastern stretch may be a big improvement. While I'll always defend the old version as a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle, that section was really lacking previously and it was like, can we get off now?

Exactly my thoughts, right from the announcement and first artwork released on this project. A big improvement for the river experience.

A nice video from this morning, with reasonable dialogue from the blogger guy.

It's looking good but I really hope they can restore the wonderfully themed trestle that used to come out of the cave. After it was knocked down in a storm they never bothered to rebuild it.

Don't worry, there are still some trees/foliage missing in that particular section.
