Riding in monorail cab yet?

I probably know the answer to this already...but here's to hoping. Are they allowing guests to ride in the front cab of the monorails yet since the July accident? I'm hoping the answer is yes since we'll be there next week and my kids love riding up front, but I'm execting the answer will be no...not yet.

That may be true...although I was told it wouldn't happen anymore.

I was there Sept. 12th and they were not letting people ride up front... :shrug:

Talked to my former Area Manager while I was an Intern at WDW in 2006 and 2007...

It will be at least two years before guests are allowed back in.

I had heard while being down there next week a new system of some sort was to be installed first and then people would be allowed to arrive up front. What type of system i don't know.

The only people you will see up front are the driver and maybe one or two monorail cast members who are being dropped off somewhere.

We were there a three weeks ago and asked the operator if we could ride up front and he said that it wasn't permitted at that time. We tried!

I wonder if the monorail ops have anything they're supposed to say in particular if you ask why you're not allowed...
Obviously, no one should actually do this, as you already know the answer and it would just be in bad taste.
But I do wonder.

I don't think I've ridden back with the "lower class" passengers once in my last 5 trips. We never ride during busy transportation times - only for fun or convenience, so we always wait for the front.

October and January are going to be difficult for me, but I'll be strong. We'll venture back into the wretched "coach" seats. Sigh....
