Ridiculous: Everyone is forced to stand now in the Wishes fastpass area.

This is actually a real issue. If you are sitting somewhere and take the time to look on the ground near walls and dark areas you will see how many roaches there really are. Some of them are massive.

Ooops.. I skimmed this thought and had to re-read it. I thought you were saying some of the people were massive....

As far as the subject of the thread goes, people are not allowed to sit during Wishes because of lowered light levels and a heightened risk of trampling incidents. It's a policy that shouldn't have to be in place because people should have common sense. Sadly, we all know better so it is what it is.

MK does have a bunch of cool cats that come out at night though... don't want to mess with those snakes though (unless ot's a black racer, then it really is harmless).

I remember the cats backstage. I dont remember the snakes. The occasional gator was cute.

Meh.... just your average Florida palmetto bug. (Translation: Jurassic Cockroach the size of an adult thumb)

On the emporium side backstage (which backs up to Jungle Cruise) or even on stage near Casey's I saw many a snake. Always had to call animal control on property and have them deal with it.

Yeah, I was never on that side. Always under the train station, or up/down M07 to the tunnels. Never explored too far on the AdLib side... mostly because the godawful smell of trash on that side....

I spent a fair amount of time on both sides. Tbh, I know the whole area from Bus drop off to the Castle like the back of my hand since I was Main Street Custodial. People get scared off by the job title, but it's incredibly easy and actually fun getting to be on your own and talk to guests as opposed to someone stationed at a ride pressing buttons all day.

And I guess I never really noticed the smell too much. People say the Tunnels smell, but I never really got that impression. Maybe I just got used to it?

Biggest thing I had to get used to when I moved to Fla. we're the roaches. You can be the cleanest person ever and they still make their way in from time to time.

I'm sure when the lights go out in the MK (does that actually happen?) they are probably scurrying all over.

The grossest thing I saw was a rat in the Norway pavilion while partaking in some school bread.

It was that one branch of the tunnel that led towards Pirates. Always made me gag. Didnt really go that far, didnt want people asking questions of why a researcher was in that part of the park.

And talking with guests was the best part of research. Got yelled at a lot too for things I couldn't fix.

The one thing that utterly shocked me was that lack of knowledge about the park by its cast. Not like history, urban legends, etc., but where things were. Where is this ride? Where is this character? Where's the nearest bathroom? I have an issue, how do I fix it? All things that almost everyone on here could answer at the drop of a hat.

The big roaches are American Cockroaches a.k.a palmetto bug. They live outside and if they make their way into your home will most likely die quite quickly. Oh, did I mention they fly?

Oh, NOW I know what you're talking about lol

And yeah, much of the problems, is the CPs. They have a constant CP turnover. They have 4 regular groups of CPs that come and go per year that last for different lengths of time, 4 chef internships that last 3 months each and then the ICP internships. I'm not exactly sure on how long the ICP internships last, but they are similar to the regular North American CPs.

When you have that much turnover and every interview is done via phone, even if you have the best training (which i'll admit, the training could use a lot of work to keep people interested in what's being talked about), there will still be clueless people. Many get axed early, but some remain and they just everyone around them off. Most CPs are actually really good from my experience, but then you have the few clueless CPs who make everyone around them look bad. I feel like they should fire faster since management knows these people are problems as well and some actually really hurt efficiency in getting things done, but they just keep them on because "their program will be done soon enough".

I prefer the Doc Martens method of extermination when they would come into my domicile.

Keep in mind, this is like 10 years ago. Most of the CPs I knew were pretty great. There was this one awesome one, but she ran into a bad time of things. She wasn't the same after that and left as soon as she could.

Yeah, but what you say is still true, especially as they've started to rely on CPs and Haitians (Disney cut a deal with Port au Prince to give any Haitians that wanted one a job back when the earthquake happened... supposedly Disney CAN'T fire them per the contract). Disney has relied so much on this rotating roster of CMs that either think it's a vacation (CPs) or barely speak English and don't do crap because they can't get fired (Haitians).

Disney has made this mess, but they don't want to clean it up because they don't see that it affects guest experience. They just see that P&R is making boatloads of money.
