Any tips for shorter lines at Nemo? I was going to do this on MM, but was warned I could waste all morning on this one when we could do all of Fantasyland in the same time

How fast after opening do I need to get tickets to Aladdin at DCA so I am sure to see the show?

We went to Disneyland earlier this month and rode Nemo 1st thing. Even though the park was crowded because of the holidays, the lines were not terrribly long for Fantasyland. Some things we even walked right on.

As for the Aladdin show, we didn't get tickets. Like the shows at WDW, we just got in line about 30-45 minutes before showtime. I have to say it was a truly great show. Well worth seeing.

I didn't know there was an option of getting tickets for Alladdin!? Any idea where these can be collected?
They're given to you if you book a certain travel package. Other than that, just get there early.

As for Nemo, I can't really say, I went in off-season and only waited about 15 minutes.

Unless you absolutely, positively cannot live without riding Nemo, I'd say skip it altogether.

We waited nearly 1 and a half hours for the ride - after getting there "first thing" in the morning immediately after the gates opened - and it just was not worth the time or effort.

Honestly, I got way more of a "kick" out of the Jedi Academy that started up shortly after we got off the Nemo ride.

I Suggest at leave 45-60 Minutes Prior, If you book through Disneyland.com, you can get priority seating pass with your package, that allows you to just show up 30 minutes prior to show time, and get in before the regular line!!! Sweet Deal, The Show is AWESOME

It's not necessarily a "Pass" but our version of EMH. Resort guests get in 30 min. early and some use it to get a head start on the line at Nemo.

I'm so surprised people still run for Nemo and create 60 minute lines every morning. By late afternoon the ride has a 15 minute wait, and by later in the evening the ride is a total walk-on. I guess this is just the fallout of people relying too much on guidebooks that were written 18 months before their vacation?

I've been on Nemo several times this past fall and winter, and always in the last hour of park operation. The line is tiny to nonexistent, where it had been using all the switchbacks 12 hours earlier from the morning rush.

Plus, Nemo is better at night I think because the lagoon looks so cool all lit up with all the colored lights. It makes for a more colorful ride and simply cooler vibe to the hip 1950's throwback. Really, how cool is a 1950's submarine ride with 21st century talking fish?!? It's even better all lit up at night.

Don't wait in line! Go at night! Don't follow the advice of a guidebook written over a year ago by someone who is not a local!

In 2003 when Aladdin was new and DCA was a total failure in the marketplace with tiny crowds, the Hyperion Theater ushers used to stand out on Hollywood Blvd. passing out tickets to the show. They would even set up a little podium to make it more official. The whole thing was a marketing gimmick exposed by Al Lutz in an attempt to build "buzz" for the show and convince tourists they were getting involved in something really special.

The huge Hyperion Theater seats 1,800 people, and many tourists caught on when they got inside the theater and realized there were entire sections of the upper balcony seats that were empty. Some shows they didn't even seat the Mezzanine level, and only had 500 or so people sitting in the Orchestra and Upper Orchestra levels for the show. But there were the ushers each day, out in the street at the podium, passing out "tickets" for the next show.

That gimmick only lasted for about six months in '03, and Al Lutz making fun of them for trying to pull one over on the tourists didn't help. They now just ask people to arrive no later than 10 minutes before show time.

There is a special travel package still available that gives you "priority seats" for Aladdin. But all that consists of is one row in the middle of the Orchestra section blocked off by cheesy velvet ropes. Quite frankly, I don't like the view from the Orchestra section as you miss out on a lot of the stage effects and don't get the impact of the flying carpet scene. If you go to Aladdin, head to the Mezzanine level where the view is great and you get the full effect of the amazing showmanship for this performance.

Hopefully you are there on a day that is busy enough for them to open up the Mezzanine. Without a ticket, of course.

Thanks everybody! The guidebooks kept referencing the Aladdin "tickets" - thank goodness we don't have to worry about those. Good to know Nemo is calming down at night. RideMax has it at a 45 minute wait showing for evening on the days we're there - March 14-16 start of spring breaks so hopefully it won't be too crowded.
