Trip Report Revisiting 2016's War and peace I took one for the team

Hello it's me again and if you want to know what the title means you'll have to stick around for a while. Sorry but no spoiler This trip was 3 years in the making and the official countdown started at 439 days. Surprisingly the time seemed to fly by. Our little adventure was taken by me (for those who don't know I'm Figmentfan423 Figgy to my friends here), my dh and our 2 boys James 14 and fellow Disney planner and M who's a bit older autistic and doesn't like getting his picture taken or me talking about him. Our trip began at

am on July 30th. We sang happy birthday to my little guy while driving down the street on our way to Disney. I'm a very mean mommy who made my baby spend his birthday in the car. Any way it was smooth sailing until half way through Virginia where we hit rain and traffic all the way to the North Carolina border. It was bad enough we worried a bit about making it to our hotel for the first night but once we hit NC the skies cleared and so did the traffic:joyfull: and we made it to Florida

to take the obligitory first Florida picture of the boys. With a bit of luck and excitement we made it to Ormond Beach to get a good night's sleep.

There was time for one last ride on EE and the night Safari. So sorry none of the pics of the safari came out but we did laugh while the CM was pointing out all the sleeping animals. At least the lions were awake. We closed the park while watching the Tree of Life. From there it was a bus to the Contemporary because the boys wanted to ride the monorail to the TTC I can't believe we did the 4 park hop, did 2 ADRs and had a blast doing it. One big item off my Disney bucket list I think it was due to both a lot of luck and a bit of planningView attachment 161377
Planning, and strong endurance is the key. Hubby does the first, but not the last. lol

We absolutely love Sanaa. That bread service is amazing. We only got the small one with the three accompaniments. Next time we are going for the larger one.
Like you Figgy, I made a couple of them at home too. They are good but not like eating them at Sanaa! Lol
Maybe @littleroo will go and eat there for us when she goes down ;)
We will definitely try Tiffens if only to compare the two.

First up was 2 orders of bread service and it was everything @epcotisbest said it was soooo yummy and I had a glass of Black Pearl it was really good just not quite as good as the Carmen from Tiffin's. I want to get a bottle of that but may wind up turning into a serious lush if I do find itView attachment 161415 View attachment 161420Next up was the shaved cauliflower salad but instead we got one of those and a salad trio with melon on one of the salads. James can't have melon so they quickly rushed out another cauliflower salad and left the trio no charge. Yea! Jim and my older ds split the braised beef, butter chicken and basmatti rice and James and I split the chick pea wat, cilantro coconut milk veggies and basmatti rice YUM but the waiter knocked my almost empy wine glass on the floor and quickly brought me another. who am I to turn down free wine :DView attachment 161428 View attachment 161430
Happy accident!;)

I have reservations at Sanaa on the evening we will be in AK. I just don't know if I should cancel and go with Tiffins. I love Sanaa and I think it will be more entertaining for the boys. I

What an awful decision to have to make!! haha I love Sanaa and love the atmosphere. If you want to try something new, then go for Tiffins. Maybe get online and look at the menus and let the boys help you decide? Good luck!!

We had an 8am PPO breakfast at the Crystal Palace. It was fun and the food was ok. But seeing we're all gluten free the chef had a bit of a problem keeping up with the boys and their love of waffles. They said it was all you can eat not me:D My boys take the words all you can eat as a challenge:confused: The real maple syrup was a plus but my dh said my omletes at home are much better. I buy organic eggs from a local farm and precook the veggies that go in it so I'm thinking he may be a bit picky. The guys ate all the bacon and sausage they could stuff into themselves:facepalm: They were out of the gf muffins that day:( and I didn't see the stuffed french toast we can't eat it but I was planning on getting a pic for all of you.View attachment 161340 View attachment 161342 View attachment 161344 View attachment 161345 View attachment 161347 View attachment 161348

While we were on the bus to AK I lucked out and got a last minute ADR But first the boys wanted to ride PW and EE. After that the boys went to Restaurantsaurous and got chicken sandwiches and fries and rode EE, PW and Kali. While Jim and I went to Yak and Yeti. There was a bit of a wait so we stopped at the bar I got a Big Bamboo(not doing that again) and Jim got some type of cider I ordered the veggie lo mein and Me Sho Chiko Nigori unfiltered saki both were very good and Jim got the kobe beef burger which he liked very much. BTW the water had way too much chlorine to drinkView attachment 161369 View attachment 161370 View attachment 161371 View attachment 161372 View attachment 161373The boys' foodView attachment 161374 View attachment 161376
Thats my favourite restaurant (intermediate price). I always go there, I love it.
And I 100% agree with you. the water tastes insanely like chlorine. I always end drinking sodas.

Time for a spin on Seven Dwarves Mine Train. We just missed the opening on our last trip so we had to check it out. As many others have said it's cute but a bit shortView attachment 158648 My dh's survival cooling towel. He's not a fan of the heat. LOL When we got off SDMT we saw these fine fellowsView attachment 158649

Work has majorly interrupted my Disney fix lately, so I'm just now tuning in.:D

We LOVE cooling towels!!

Pooh looks a little thin. He needs more honey.[/QUOTE]

Dinner at Garden Grill was ok but not exactly wonderful. The characters were worth the price of admission as was a different view of Living with the LandView attachment 158690 View attachment 158691 View attachment 158692 but I really don't think we'll be running back anytime soon. The gf bread option was meh and waiting for refills of food and drinks seemed to take longer than the characters going around again. The saving grace LOL the citrus freeze:hungry:View attachment 158693 The gf dessert option was a couple of prepackaged cookies:(

Really? Prepackaged cookies? That's not right!
