Trip Report Revisiting 2016's War and peace I took one for the team

Hello it's me again and if you want to know what the title means you'll have to stick around for a while. Sorry but no spoiler This trip was 3 years in the making and the official countdown started at 439 days. Surprisingly the time seemed to fly by. Our little adventure was taken by me (for those who don't know I'm Figmentfan423 Figgy to my friends here), my dh and our 2 boys James 14 and fellow Disney planner and M who's a bit older autistic and doesn't like getting his picture taken or me talking about him. Our trip began at

am on July 30th. We sang happy birthday to my little guy while driving down the street on our way to Disney. I'm a very mean mommy who made my baby spend his birthday in the car. Any way it was smooth sailing until half way through Virginia where we hit rain and traffic all the way to the North Carolina border. It was bad enough we worried a bit about making it to our hotel for the first night but once we hit NC the skies cleared and so did the traffic:joyfull: and we made it to Florida

to take the obligitory first Florida picture of the boys. With a bit of luck and excitement we made it to Ormond Beach to get a good night's sleep.

First up was 2 orders of bread service and it was everything @epcotisbest said it was soooo yummy and I had a glass of Black Pearl it was really good just not quite as good as the Carmen from Tiffin's. I want to get a bottle of that but may wind up turning into a serious lush if I do find it

Next up was the shaved cauliflower salad but instead we got one of those and a salad trio with melon on one of the salads. James can't have melon so they quickly rushed out another cauliflower salad and left the trio no charge. Yea! Jim and my older ds split the braised beef, butter chicken and basmatti rice and James and I split the chick pea wat, cilantro coconut milk veggies and basmatti rice YUM but the waiter knocked my almost empy wine glass on the floor and quickly brought me another. who am I to turn down free wine :D

The bread service is delicious and fun, with a nice presentation too. Glad you liked it. Some of those accompaniments are way hot and spicy, others just a taste sensation. We sometimes get some naan from Trader Joe's and make some accompaniments of our own to go with it, you know, easy stuff like hummus and such. It is something fun to try at home.

I already found a recipe for their gf naan and made the mango chutney, a date chutney, an apple chutney and of course a roasted red pepper chutney to go with it. The only pic I could have gotten that night would have been crumbs. Maybe not even that much was left. oops yes I did make hummus also, almost forgot

Bet it was delicious, and fun to prepare. How did your guys like having bread service at home, and did they appreciate your effort?

Tuesday August 16th. Universal. Wait what. Yes we went there. We even got APs because they worked out to about the same price as 4 day hoppers except for Jim's he got one level up so we'd get free parking and 10% off food and shopping. The boys have been bugging us for a while and we had the time so why not. First it's easy to drive there and parking is easy. I was a bit worried when I didn't see the park entrance right away but it's a quick walk and they have moving side walks if you choose to use them. Their security is beyond easy to get through. I really didn't want to compare them to Disney but not only is it easier, it's faster, they don't poke through your bags and the lines move extremely quickly. Here's a few things we saw on the way in

Glad you had such a good experience with Universal's security...that hasn't always been the case with me. I had one employee empty out my entire bag with it's many compartments before letting me through one time
